I just wanted to say hi. I've been reading the forums for about a week now, and I've already learned a lot. This seems like a great place. I hope to have something to contribute from time to time.
My husband and I live in Plymouth, and we have a band called Red River. We're pretty much just in the recording phase right now.
It's nice to find some fellow Minnesotans here!

Hi Shelly! Welcome to JPF! I've been here almost a year, and I've learned tons of stuff here too. Glad you found your way here! Good luck with your recording sessions! And check out the Roadtrip forums to see if there's a JPF event coming close to you this summer. Nice to meet you! Linda

Hey Shelly, Howdy and welcome. I've heard of "Red River" but have not had the pleasure of seeing you guys play. Please come to the JPF Roadtrip Show if you can. If not, we're trying to get something going here on a monthly basis but everyone seems to into their own thing (me too w/work, family, writing songs, recording, giging, etc)that we're having a rough time. Anyways, I hope to meet you soon.

I don't know if we can do it, though, due to other commitments at that time. I know what you mean about everyone having their own thing. Too bad that work and "life" interferes with the important stuff. I know we'll catch up with each other sooner or later, though.

Welcome Shelly! We need more artists like yourselves to hang out here. Steve and I try to keep something going even if it's just to say Hi. Just Plain Folks is the best site weather you need info or need some humor. You could read for a month and not cover the spectrum of stuff that goes on here and nationally. Unfortunately, I'll be in Montana when the road trip hits Mpls. Hope to be able to get out and hear your band sometime. Wayne www.waynelongtin.com

This site is great! I've learned so much just in the week or so that I've been reading the posts.

Hey everybody! I just saw that if I make one more comment it looks like this will tie for the most replies on this site. (8) Great to see some activity here finally. Thanks Steve. We're still trying to figure out international copyright stuff but in the meantime we've written our own contract in case we both become famous someday!! The best we can do at this point. I should probably quit calling him that "Johnny Cash guy" and give him a plug now that we've covered the copyright stuff. His name is Daryl Weyman and he's from British Columbia. We opened for Carlene Carter at the National Traditional Country Music Fest (What a long name!) in Missouri Valley, Iowa. She was amazed as you will be by the similarities between Johnny Cash and Daryl. He walks like him, talks like him and sings like him. Take a look..... www.reflectionsinblack.com Wayne

As a side note, I listened to your stuff on SoundClick, and I was very impressed!
