I've invited folks from the other JPF sections around Michigan to team up with us on this adventure: Greetings from the Detroit JPF Section! We're interested in creating a network of bands and venues in Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania and New York that regularly bring in JPF artists from these states (other states are welcome to join the team). The goal is to work together so that we expand each other's fan base. Brian Austin Whitney discussed "...20 new fans a week for 5 years" and the system of playing gigs with an established local band is working for us. Our band (Jackie Blue) regularly offers to host out of state artists at our shows in return for a gig at one of your local shows. No one expects to get rich from the show, but it has been beneficial in building up everyone's list of fans. You're invited to join the team and your feedback on this idea is welcome. We'll post updates on all participating section websites. Tom ------------------ Jackie Blue www.jackieblue.comE-mail: jackieblue_2001@yahoo.com

Absolutely! We've been doing a bit of swapping with solo singer/songwriters ourselves. In fact, we found one on the Detroit message board from New York. Its been a wealth of information in terms of finding the right venues for our style.
I'm hoping this will encourage folks to look beyond just this message board for great networking opportunities!
Thanks Tom.
