SONGPITCH with JUSTIN WILDE

Looking for Songs for Christmas, Hanukkah, Halloween, Mother’s and Father’s Day and more ….
(see details below)

Publisher Justin Wilde (SONGCASTLE MUSIC (ASCAP) and CHRISTMAS & HOLIDAY MUSIC (BMI)) has had songs recorded and/or performed on major network television Christmas specials by such artists as Barbara Streisand, Ray Charles, Loretta Lynn, Tobie Keith, Anita Baker, Vince Gill, Anne Murray, Johnny Mathis, Tanya Tucker, Barbara Mandrell, Vikki Carr, Glen Campbell, Jack Jones, Marilyn McCoo, Kathie Lee Gifford, The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, and numerous others. He is looking for the following:

CHRISTMAS MUSIC: Secular or (lite) religious "Original" Christmas songs (vocals only on “original songs for publishing. Particularly need mid and especially up-tempo holiday tunes with "positive" lyrics in all styles imaginable: R&B, Urban, Alternative, Country, Rock (Contemporary & 50s, RAP, Jazz, Gospel, Contemporary Christian, Reggae, Blues, Pop and all other unique styles. Also need Hanukkah tunes.

Unless it's a "Blues" tune, please AVOID THE FOLLOWING:

Songs with lyrically negative or sad themes such as: "I'm sad because you're not here at Christmas" or "We're homeless or destitute at Christmas", etc.

Also seeking master quality vocal, choral or instrumental Christmas public domain tracks in all styles for licensing to TV & Film projects.

HALLOWEEN MUSIC: Looking for two styles: Fun, comic, light hearted or camp Halloween tunes that both kids and adults can enjoy in the vein of "The Monster Mash". Also need Mid to Up Tempo Halloween songs in the vein of "Black Magic Woman" or "Witchy Woman". Think a sit-com Halloween party scene with people "dancing".

MOTHER'S & FATHER'S DAY SONGS: Songs that do not mention Mother's or Father's day per se, but ones that are inspirational a la Bette Midler's "The Wind Beneath My Wings", Anne Murray's "You Needed Me", or Reba's "The Man Down The Hall". In other words, something a parent would love to hear, or something a parent would love to say to their child.

Scratch demos are fine. In fact, he prefers them before you spend a fortune on a "broadcast quality master/demo". Justin’s website for more info www.christmassongs.com

If you have a song you want heard, bring it on CD or Cassette, with a lyric sheet. Our out of town members will be played first (tucson, prescott, etc).

TEXAS SONGWRITERS CRUISE - Yeah!

October 8 - 13, 2005 (Saturday-Wednesday)
Set sail from Galveston, Texas, with stops to shop at Cozumel and Playa Del Carmen on Mexico's East Coast.

Texas Songwriters Cruise <http://secure.ifanz.net/clickthru.php?C=453&M=0000005406&L=http://www.txsongwriterscruise.com/> with John and JoAnn Braheny, Jason Blume, and more - from the website:

The 1st Annual Texas Songwriters Cruise is a combination songwriting conference and 5-Day Caribbean vacation rolled into one. The cruise will leave Galveston, Texas on October 8, 2005, aboard the Carnival Cruise Ship Ecstasy with ports of call in Cozumel and Playa del Carmen/Calica in the Eastern Caribbean. The event was created by songwriters for songwriters, with the focused vision of providing something for songwriters at all levels. It will include opportunities to pitch your songs to publishers and music industry professionals, personal career/music consultations with successful music pro's, and sessions by proven hit makers and artist development pro's regarding the business and craft of songwriting. The songwriting faculty will include Jason Blume, who has written album cuts for Britney Spears, the Backstreet Boys, Collin Raye, the Oak Ridge Boys, John Berry, and others. John and Jo Ann Braheny will also attend as faculty members. John co-founded the legendary Los Angeles Songwriters Showcase which provided exposure and encouragement to an impressive list of later-to-be-successful writers/artists including Stevie Nicks, Lindsay Buckingham, Janis Ian, Warren Zevon, Karla Bonoff, Stephen Bishop, and Diane Warren. John teaches songwriting/music business classes all over the country, including UCLA, Musicians Institute and LA Recording School (Hollywood). Jo Ann Braheny has lectured on Creative Process nationwide as well and has extensive experience in the music industry gained, in part, through stints with Billboard Magazine, CBS Records, Warner Bros, Island Music, ABC-TV, NBC-TV, Dick Clark Productions, and Walt Disney Imagineering.

Of course, you don't have to live in Texas or be a Texan to participate in this event - everyone is welcome!

Please make your reservations ASAP because they've reserved a limited number of cabins and they're going fast!

The six-week tele-seminar series will feature a conference-style call with a different writer each week. Seminar participants will have the opportunity to email questions before and during the seminars for the writers and HitWriters.com staff to answer. Everything pertaining to songwriting will be open for discussion.

The schedule for the six-week series is as follows:

July 26 Wynn Varble
August 2 Dave Gibson
9 Rob Crosby
