Hello again everyone. Here it is May, and time already for another Hoot. Where does the time go?

First off, I'd like to thank all the players who made our last show a hoot and a half! First and foremost, a big thanks to our Features:

- Evil Eddy & Plain Jane from Lone Vein (lonevein.com) rocked the house with their tunes and surprise pick, the Clash's "Know Your Rights"
- Robin Aigner from Royal Pine (RoyalPineMusic.com) a great rendition of Hank Williams' "Ramblin Man" and a few Royal Pine gems
- Kama Linden (KamaLinden.com) took a whimsical look at the lighter side of Prozac, and romantic "bliss" as most of us know it, from her CD, "Uninhibited"

These folks made the Hootenanny portion of the show something special, and it sure was great to have our host, Lindy Loo, getting us all acquainted with them.

But that's only half the story - what a host of other talent we had joining in! If you weren't there, you missed Sean Kershaw & Hilary Banjo (SeanKershaw.com - they had us hittin' the jug & cuttin' a rug!), Nate & Dan from the New Heathens (NewHeathens.com - rootsy rockin' tunes from thei brand-spankin' new "Heathens Like Me"), rope-wrangler extraordinaire Telly Cardacey (truly amazing rope work - AceCardacey@gmail.com), excellent banjo pickin' and singin' from Eli Smith (myspace.com/elismithetc), Slim Polski's solo stage debut, and fine Hootenanny contributions from Seth Kess (myspace.com/sethkess) yours truly, and more. My apologies to anyone I've overlooked here, or don't have contact info for.

Well it's sure gonna be hard to top a lineup like that folks, but by golly, we're gonna try. Here are the Features we have in store for this Sunday:

- Sean Kershaw & Hilary Banjo (Sean Kershaw.com) Now known as "the Fort Greene Mountain Mamas", bringing back their hi-Octane honkytonk from the heart of Brooklyn
- Danny Mulligan from the Flanks (TheFlanks.com) will deliver his "all-spit-and-no-polish country jug stylings"
- Matt Wissler & Linda May Wacker from the Wissler Family (TheWisslerFamily.com), from the Louvin Brothers to Jagger/Richards, an original sound that encompasses the many facets of American Music
- Bob Pierson & Greg Phoenix (Jet Black) - A love for the Sun sound brought these guys together over 15 years ago. They'll play the songs that got them started & a few of your favorites
- And just added, we have Perfesser Zeke with Wisko Sam on the dobro (myspace.com/perfesserzekeandthebrooklyn2z), featuring his take on New Old Time Country, a la Johnny, Hank, and Jimmie

We'll have other "Hoot alumni" joining in, PBR specials, and we'll be giving away CDs by our Features to some lucky guests! Don't forget, it's an open mic from 5-7pm for all honkytonk, bluegrass & rockabilly players (solos or duos only, please). From 7-9pm we'll get our Features on the stage together (if we can cram 'em up there, that is!) for the Hootenanny, playing round-robin while they talk with Lindy Loo about their songs and stories. We close with the "Hillbilly Improv", where we all get up, join in, and rattle the walls with songs we all know. We'll have an extra lyric sheet for you, so come prepared to hoot & holler, hear?

After the Hoot, be sure to join Sean Kershaw & the New Jack Ramblers for more Hi-octane Honkytonk at Hanks Saloon, corner of Atlantic & Third Avenues, Brooklyn!
