I always enjoy your songs, Vic, and this was no exception. My only reservation would be that I did have a bit of difficulty reconciling the folky style with the totally country style of the lyrics. The overall theme and words themselves feel so country that I expected slide guitars and a southern accent. Not suggesting you try putting on a southern accent It's not a criticism - just an observation.

Hi Gavin. I find it quite difficult to decide on what genre is what. I don't start out with any particular genre in mind. but It has a resonator and other guitars in it because I liked the way they sounded together. Maybe I just invented a genre or maybe it's what they call "Alternative" or Americana". Maybe Cymruana. Thanks for breaking the silence.

I'd obviously "vote" for Cymruana... LOL!
Nice work John and Vic. They say "Good Men" are getting scarce... but I wouldn't know. My better half is constantly attempting to lead me into the light... and I let her think she's winning.
You picked a tough time to "roll out" a new number on the MP3 Forum with so many attempting to get away to Timbuktu, Bethlehem or wherever their hearts lead them this time of year.
Enjoyed "Don't Try to Change Me!" ----Dave

Hey John and Vic,
Your song is just beautiful! It has a very cool Dylan-esque quality to it, too!
Merry Christmas to you both!

Nice one guys - it has a Gordon Lightfoot vibe to me and that is good. Universal lyrics suit nicely. Good vocal and mix. It's a tiny nit, but I think starting with a side-stick instead of the snare would help it build. Well written and performed Paul

This is as folk rock as it gets IMHO... Timeless rhythm, melody and message! I give it a 7/10

I really like this song Vic and John, very good performance and I like the guitar work. I think I really relate to the lyric too. Lane
