It's not often I do pop but Travis' lyrics were swinging that way. What do you think? Vic https://soundcloud.com/vic-arnold/did-she-talk-about-mehttps://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=13656996 Did she talk about me. © 2017 John Vaughan & Vic Arnold V So you been talking to an old friend? Who knows where that thing could have led It's been a long, long time, no see but once in a while in my dreams Ch. Did she talk about me? Even mention my name? Ask how I've been ? Does she still look the same? But just out of curiosity... did she talk about me? V Heard that she had moved on, out of town? It's been a while since I seen her around. Here we go again... those two talented Welshmen collaborating again... and sharing another "gem" with us.
Great job, guys... and from my perspective... this is good enough to work in several genres. Vic made a great choice, though... and his vocal and backing are always effective. Enjoyed my listen. ----Dave

Thanks once again Dave for your support ( I'm wearing now as I write) True what they say get two Welsh man together and all they want to do is sit in a zinc bath by a coal fire (chairs were in short supply) Or make music. Your turn in the bath Vic. Thanks Dave appreciate your words and loyalty Travis

Hi guys,
Vic, love your vocal and vocal sound. The rhythm guitar (left center) on the verses is perfect and gives the song a nice groove.
Travis, great lyric! What makes it work for me is that you give the singer "layers" of conflicted emotions while he talks. He's definitely excited and curious about the woman, but he's also trying a little to mask that excitement when talking to his friend, and that makes it really sweet, with the addition of little words like
Did she mention old friends maybe? I suppose that could include me?
--and Vic, you add a lightness to your vocal sound and phrasing that matches perfectly and it all works great, guys!
Mike

Thanks Neil. Yes a simple message seems to work best for most pop music. Not sure if anything could be added lyric wise. I did contemplate finishing dead on the last chorus.

Hi Dave. Thanks for the comments. We two boyos are grateful.
Never sure of genres but you're probably right. I thought of folk rock, folk pop, country pop and pop rock. Then there's all the rest ...... ad infinitum. I'm in favour of reclassifying the genres to dirge, slow, medium, fast and manic.

A wonderful collaboration guys. Love the sentiment in the lyrics and Vic did another bang up job on the arrangement and performance.

Hey guys,
I really liked this one a lot! Everything fits very well, and really like how the music arrangements changed with vs/ch/br. Great prosody given the lyrics and bounciness with the music--cleverly sung timing-wise Vic. Loved the simple innocence of the lyrics John! No nits here.....

I like this song. I think the sound is only "pop" in the sense that it sounds kind of like some late 80s Springsteen mixes, but it still has an edge, and I like the simplicity of it.
Good job guys!

Hi David. Thanks for the thumbs up. Arghhhh! The genre code should be a college study.
I suppose logically, "pop" is short for popular so could apply to any style that's popular at the moment. That means though, much of the music from a few years ago will have to be re-classified as it's no longer popular. Gets more confusing as the years go by.

HI David I cringe when I hear the word pop these days. You could be right though 80s undertones might find it's pigeon hole. Travis

Nice work, Travis and Vic. It reminded me a little of The Cars. Whaaaat? I don't know from genres either but I know I enjoyed my listen. Thanks for sharing your talents. Who the heck is John Vaughan? Ricki
