Ok. I just did a demo for Travis but he sent the donation to me instead of JPF. If I donate it Travis won't register as donating anything. Do I refund him or what??????
Vic
Hey, Vic,
My best guess?
"Donate" it!
You and Travis made a JPF "connection"...
Something "special" happened....
Bless you both!!!
THAT is what this Telethon is all about...
You made an offer...
Travis took you up on it...
A Demo from you...A Donation to JPF...
All is good:-)
This being a "virtual" Telethon, sometimes it's tricky to keep following along:-)
I sincerely hope that patience, is, indeed, a Virtue:-)

Vic, just send me a note and tell me to put it in his name and yours as we have precedent when long ago Mike Caro donated $500 dollars he was paid by another board member for production/recording services and we credited both people which is the right way to look at it.

I've been working on Dave Gill's demo--he donated last week and sent me a demo request..so I'm also "taken" in terms of any future donation/demo considerations..thought it best to mention this..

-The Divine Comedy (Neil Hannon) from the song "Songs of Love" from the album "Casanova" (1996)
Thanks Midnite for the above mention... I just thought that I would add somewhat to the above posting.
If I hadn't been a member of JPF, none of the below songs would ever never have been completed as they are, (apart from Oh, Appalachia for which I just did the video) and I honestly am very proud of all the tracks produced with other members of JPF.
So how do I put a value on all of that. I can't so I try to help in a small way.
I know that part of this fund raising is to allow Brian to have the boards fixed and modernised. And other songwriters not being able to join (because the upgrades are needed) must tear Brian apart. It does me, because we need new blood and fresh ideas.

What an impressive collection of songs, Roy!
I took a little while to listen to most of these and not rush..but this is a very impressive collection of work!
My favorites were the Jackson Kelly songs, Helen's "Best Years of My Life" --I've always loved Heather's voice.."The Fireman" was very moving..Vic's collabs are fun.."My Name Is Johnny Cash" really captures Cash's mood and spirit.."Stomp Your Hands and Clap Your Feet" also needed repeat listenings..but my favorite is the very inspirational "I Thank the Lord For You" --as I could relate strongly, as my mother had a series of minor strokes over the last decade of her life..
You (and Helen) write great songs. Your Inspirational/Christian work is beautiful work, and your "Outlaw Country" stuff's pretty damn good as well..
Looking at the list of your collaborators..how would that be possible without the networking JPF allows us?
Anyway, thanks for bringing these to my/our attention.
Mike

thanks for the comments Mike and we are so pleased that you liked our songs.
I will mention another song that although not a collaboration did go through the lyrics board and I got some real good advice on improvements. One of my favs.
I'm not sure if I love you or hate you right now...:-)
I Love you, because you remind us all of the JPF "Successes"!!!
I hate you(OK, "hate" is too strong a word)..
Let's just say that I'm a "tad annoyed", because you have reminded me of my JPF "failures"...No worries, I won't be too hard on mesself:-)....
...Here are two JPF "connection recollections" that no one knows about where I failed(failure being a relative term):
Glynda Duncan....
TampaStan.....
....How are they related????
Well, here's how, please hang with me while I try to S'plain..
...No lemme try to "sum up"...:-)
JPFer's have known for years that I'm more focused these days on writing "screenplays" than music...Right?
My failure?
TampaStan
&
Glynda Sweeney Duncan
I tried to write two screenplays on what they'd given me.
I got 30 pages into each of them before I realized that I couldn't do them justice...
Here's why:
Glynda's was based on her song "Jackson Kelly"....A very personal childhood recollection of a young gal(Glynda) in Texas decades ago.....As a "scriptwriter", I could have captured Glynda's young "voice"...Think "Scout" from "To Kill A Mockingbird"....Glynda(Scout) had already "captured" everything anyone needed to know about Jackson Kelly...
...So I bowed out,,,
TampaStan's screenplay idea was based on "Nikola Tesla".
Ya'll hafta remember that TampaStan was not only "active" here on JPF.....
....He was also active in various other pursuits in his local community....
And one of Stan's "passions" was the story of Nikola Tesla...
Stan sent me (via PM's) link after link after link and personal research that he had done regarding Tesla...
We tried to pull a screenplay together, but never got beyond the first 10 pages....Stan wanted to go one way, I wanted to go in a totally different direction:-)
Anyhoo....
In honor of TampaStan, here is the "Wiki" to Nikola Tesla, a man ahead of his time:
We must have been reading Glenda's story at the same time Midnite, it's just that I asked Glynda if I could write a song about him, and you went for the screenplay....
After the song was finished, I like to think that she was a bit gob-smacked, and during the following 3 months, I kept feeling after listening to the song that something was missing, and so I wrote the 2nd song.
These are two of my favs, and the fiddle player on the songs really lights my fire.
Why don't you resurrect the screenplay and try again?
I haven't seen Glynda on JPF for ages, I hope that she is OK.
The Only Love We'd Known' was another song I wrote after reading about a period of Glynda's life.
And TampaStan, he was the man.
I never heard of Nikola Tesla, but just read the article. I can understand why Stan was so interested in his life. Nikola Tesla did have a very inspiring life, and maybe at the time had Stan told me the story, I would have confounded you there as well....lol
Life is strange my friend.
Anyway, off to bed at 4 in the morning
God Bless Roy and Helen

'You Have To Kiss A Lot Of Frogs To Find A Prince'
I share Tampastan's love for Nikola Tesla. We would be living in a totally different kind of world if Tesla's inventions and vision became mainstream....
I seem to be a bit late to the party but thankfully it’s still going. I’ve just pushed the yellow button and made a donation.
It was Judy Hollier that persuaded me to join JPF, here is a live version of a song I wrote with her: I Wanna Be Your Cat – this video features a real cat … (sort of) – hope you enjoy

Thanks Midnite for your kind words. appreciated friend.
by the by, here is a song that wasn't actually formed on JPF but as Mike Caro did the new arrangement to this which is one of Helen's songs and I did the video, with mike playing, I figure that it wouldn't have happened had it not been for me meeting Mike here on JPF.
Overall I have far more from JPF than money can buy
God Bless Roy and Helen

Bottom line?
Roy Cooper just wanted to make sure you were OK, so I tossed you the Facebook "notice"...

As some folks are aware, I did some beta testing for LANDR mastering a few years back.
As a total sceptic who is used to sitting on leather couches, and using antique compressors and beautifully built sound rooms, I didn't think that it was possible to master online from an algorithem.
Well, I was wrong, or partially so.
At JPF we don't endorse/disendorse any particular product or company but I have found these guys honest and reliable. No, your mastering is not going to be of "that" personalised standard, but it is going to bring your work up to a solid standard broadcast level.
Please note ; Sh@t in = Sh@t out. So, only be bothered with finished work.
Now, a note from our sponser.....
LANDR Instant Mastering
Using it's highly-adaptable artificial intelligence engine, LANDR has mastered over 2 million tracks for musicians worldwide. Tailored to each tracks production style and genre, it applies a custom set of adaptive tools to give tracks the unique treatment they deserve. Artists must simply drag-and-drop their track into LANDR's platform, and within minutes, receive a free 30 second "before and after" preview, and an option to purchase their master in various format options starting at just $1.99.
As an exclusive offer to all Just Plain Folks users, LANDR is offering 1 free 16 bit WAV (regularly $19.99 each) to let you hear the results.
This Telethon has only 4 days left(although the Little Yellow Button will still be there)
So, how's about this as a proposal as we wind it down?
Don't worry about the Little Yellow Button and the $$$ total!!!!
...Brian is still working, 24/7 on the latest JPF Music Awards...
Hopefully, Brian, after he has had 3 hours to take a nap on November 17th, when this Telethon ends, will be able to tally up the total and share it with us...
I suspect that no one will be displeased:-)
THANKS ALL!!!!
My proposal for the next few days?
Don't worry about the Little Yellow Button...
Just share some MORE JPF memories here...
...And what we hope for the "memories" of what new JPFer's(once they're able to join because The Board WILL be updated) can gather here as the JPF Board carries on...
Much Love to All!!!

Lisa Gundling made a generous donation surpassing the amount that I asked for quite a bit. We will be working on her demo soon.
DAMMIT!!!
I hate you Lisa!!!
I was saving Ben's offer as my ace in the hole for another donation, and you just stole it right out from under me:-)))
Good thing that I have Mike Z in my back pocket for a song dear to my heart, where I will toss in $40 to JPF and then pay Mike the difference for his time and efforts:-)

My father raised earth worms for 20 years. He also raised me. So I guess you're right. I might have some worm in me.
What are the odds of that.... I guess 100% since it happened, but seriously... a worm comment leads to learning about the family worm farm... too bizarre! It's a small world and little oddball coincidences like this are every I have looked all these years of JPF. My list of coincidences just grows...

He was very successful. He ran the place with my mother who died in 92'. Started from scratch in the 70's with a small worm bed (before worms were trendy). He never sold wholesale, only at the shop to people going fishing. He later expanded to other live bait and fishing supplies. He retired and sold the property around 2000 after being shot in a robbery at the shop. He recovered but was well into his 70's and decided to hang it up. You should have seen his worm beds. He had two about 6'x 50' and one that was circular about 20' radius. All were over a foot deep. He would buy peat moss by the dump truck load to fill the beds and have to rotate every six months.
I worked for him off and on part time and learned his technique. Wish I could do it now but don't have the funds or property to get started. It takes at least 6 months just to produce enough Night Crawlers to sell.
