Just finished this one up, something a little different for me. I wrote this with my good buddy, and fellow JPFer, Steve Horton. Appreciate any feedback. Hi Tim and Steve, Beautiful song! I love the chorus and it's slightly unusual structure--the spoken line, and how line 4 rhymes with line 2 even though it seems that there's two three line phrases and a tag line at the bottom, making seven altogether. Unusual, but it works and sounds great. Troy has a true country voice and his work is very impressive. Love the sincere tone of this. The "clever" factor is appropriately toned down. This is a real winner. Mike

What a lovely song. A moving lyric, and gorgeous music & melody and vocals. Well done. As you mention 'feedback': Perhaps you could find a title other than 'Age'. It actually tells us nothing about the theme, and when I first saw it, I presumed the song would be a bit of a downer about the negative effects of aging - and definitely not a tender love song. Perhaps use part of the chorus line 1 - 'As Beautiful Today' - as your title/hook? It's more compelling and uplifting, and supports the verses. Just a thought. Keep or sweep. Donna

Funny you mention the "clever factor" as I have been accused of being "too clever" sometimes. Glad you agree it was kept in check this time. Appreciate the spin and your comments. -TK

Ya' know Steve and I have gone back and forth on the title, so your comments hit home. Interesting that you didn't think the title has anything to do with the theme, when we kinda landed on "Age" because we felt like "age" was an underlying theme based on the reflective nature of the lyrical content. True, it is a love song, but told from the angle of getting older, thus aging, yet those feelings don't change no matter how old the singer gets. But, because Steve and I have also questioned the title, we may still indeed revisit it. Thanks so much for the listen and good suggestion. -TK

hi to you both tim and steve, I love the music, the vocals are great. for me the lyric is flawless, right away I see the effort, time and concern in the write. my thoughts are this is what I would hear if I turned my F.M on today. this was so easy to listen to. Lane

This is great. A great vocal too.
I think the title works fine but an alternative could be "You're as beautiful today"

Damn it Tim. You’re gonna make me break my guitar and my recording equipment. This is such a sweet song, with just the coolest flow to it.
The musicianship, arrangement and the production are to die for.
I'm diggin the vocals and the harmonies.

Hi Tim and Steve:
I clicked and expected the usual stuff, old curmudgeon I've become in today's sorry world... and to my surprise... my ears were hearing an honest vocal to a clear, clean Country song I've been wanting to hear for so long. This is a gem... and nobody in Nashville's Label-land will most likely give it a spin... and that's a shame. I enjoyed everything you did with this and I congratulate both of you for what comes very close to a perfect song. Send more, guys... you obviously write from your hearts.
All the best, ----Dave

So smooth and lovely, all of it. I hear the latest thing is 1 or 2 word titles, probably because the attention span of the listening public is that of a gnat, but maybe Won't Ever Age is more in line with your theme. The song isn't so much about age or aging but rather their love that doesn't age. Just a thought. Well done.

All the best, ----Dave Thank you so much, Dave. Glad you were pleasantly surprised with this one lol. You're probably right about that Nashville labels, but that's ok. My wedding anniversary is next week, so I am only concerned with one person giving it a spin and liking it. Appreciate your time and comments, Dave! -TK

Hey there, Ricki. "Smooth and lovely", we'll take that! We originally did title it, "Won't Ever Age" actually, but didn't want to give the hook away necessarily in the title, and yes I have a thing for one word titles myself lol. In the end, we may just go back to the original title. Thanks so much for the listen and suggestion. Appreciate it! -TK

Thank y'all for all the kind words! I've not been very active on the board for some time, as we just welcomed our newest addition about 4 months ago now. Needless to say it's been very busy around here I'd like to also thank Tim for allowing me to work on this special tune with him! I'm very proud to have been a part of it! Here's to many more! -Steve
