I re-recorded this with a better BIAB backing track - also first version had half of the song missing. I played this on a tele that I bought a local garage sale and am enjoying playing. Playing with pick instead of finger picking. http://www.reverbnation.com/patiopete/song/23661776-lop-pow

Thanks Rojerjohn , Nelson and Calvin , your comments are greatly appreciated. This is the type of music I wanted to play when I first started playing guitar. That was over 50 yrs ago. Most of this piece was written out by Mickey Baker, but I did improvise a little, especially the ending. Playing rock riffs or blues scales is somewhat easier than playing to jazz changes for me in general. So this is a challenge that I enjoy. -- Calvin - I'm working on getting some more Blues recording and writing done.

Hey Patio Pete,
This is the first time I am hearing your sounds and enjoying what I hear. I especially like that little thing you did at around 1:24 – 1:29. My ears perked up on that note. Very laid back.
I’m not a ‘jazz flutist’ per se, so whenever I’ve played blues changes or straight jazz stuff, I play be-bop style… slipping in those memorable melodies from oldies but goodies and whenever possible, melodies from classical music like Antonín Dvořák’s New World Symphony or any other recognizable classical hits. Love to sneak in those great melodies from musicals as well, like ‘If I were a rich man’, and summertime.
Wow, what a surprise ending. I liked it. Thanks for sharing.
