Just realized that I posted this on in the lyrics board... my mistake, but as Gus has left a comment, guess we will leave it here. ------------------------------ Sorry for posting a Christmas song in Feb. That's just the way things have moved along on the production side of it. We did post the original 'The Magic of Christmas' in the lead-up to Christmas just gone. It was in the country style and stretched to 5mins 13secs. We did find a degree of resistance to it with radio stations because of it's length. ------------- So we wanted to get a shorter version and also a different genre version of it done. And after looking at one of our newer members portfolio, 'That's 'songcat' by the way, we decided to see what he could come up with. We removed the last verse and a chorus, and with the new tempo, have ended up with a song that's now 3min 12secs long. We hope that you enjoy it. Soundclick with download http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=992778&songID=13063460We hope that you enjoy and our thanks to 'songcat' who did a great job for us. God Bless Roy and Helen and Jackie

Hullo Roy. I understand you put a lot of work into promoting this and I assume it's a finished product as you haven't asked for a critique or suggs.
It's a little too sugary and wordy for me and it's more tell than show imo. I wish you the best with it though. I'm sure it will have a following.
Vic

Thanks for stopping by Vic and for your thoughts on this song. This version was only finished yesterday, and all of the promotional stuff was done on the earlier version before the Christmas just gone. This is the one that I will push for next Christmas..can't have enough time..lol Your right in that we won't be changing it any more as we have had some great reviews on last years version and we do love both. It's a little too sugary and wordy for me and it's more tell than show imo.
You may be right on that Vic and as always your opinions are valued. Me and Helen are sugary anyway...lol thanks again for taking time to stop by God Bless Roy and Helen and Jackie

Hi Roy and Jackie, It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas...! Are you keeping a tally of which version we like better? If so ... I definitely vote for this one, with its more current feel. It is pretty and I enjoyed listening and getting into the Christmas spirit! Lisa

We did think about putting both versions up and seeing which was preferred, but as we love them both, we didn't do that. I probably would agree with you. thanks again God Bless Roy and Helen and Jackie

Good song folks! The Christmas folks seem a tad dated Roy was this the idea? Sort of Eastern European Christmas cardish. More contemporary would be better I think, but I suppose this might be costlier? A good collab and I'm sure a lot of work Travis

Nothing wrong with a Christmas song in February. In Nashville, they record Christmas songs in March for the following year.

The images are dated I suppose Travis, but then the subject matter is a couple of thousand years old and for many, very traditional. I just tell the artist what I want in the images, so yes my idea lol. But as I own the rights, I could start a card company and export..lol Ideally I would love to film actual footage for the music video, and am toying with doing just that over the next few months. I will mean recreating Christmas scenes, mid summer, but its doable. anyway friend, thanks for stopping over again God Bless Roy and Helen

Thanks for the mention Roy. It sure is a nice song and we loved working on it with you! Was kind of strange to think about Christmas when we already had 70-80 degrees but we had enough leftover chocolate from December to keep the spirit of Christmas up. We all wish you all the best and most success with the song.

Hey Roy etc.,
As I'm looking out at mountains of snow, I'm thinking this song is still very much in season! And while it might seem a little old-fashioned, that's one of the reasons Christmas time is so special.
So thanks for sharing, and belated Merry Christmas!!
Beth
