Dear JPF

I was succesful with the first songwriters event here in the Philippines. 6 songwriters who came in and performed their craft. I really enjoy with the event with the same passion runs in my veins just like Brian did touring the US.

I am plannng to do it in the next month. I hope numbers of songwiters will increase so when Brian will visit us in the near future he has a lot of time enjoying the pool of talent we have here.

I wish I can insert Brian picture there as he was in the Philippines. The power of this forum can bring our founder in two places at the same time.

Hey, good work on organizing the event. That is definitely something to be proud of. I can't speak for anyone else, but I'd prefer that we stick to the truth in the subject line. Brian may well have been there in spirit, but then the subject line should reflect that to avoid confusion. I was fortunate enough to attend a road trip event already. However if I were expecting him in my town in the next day or so, I'd be pretty freaked out wondering what he was doing somewhere half-way across the planet.

You were right for pulling off the event. You can be even more right by promoting it correctly.

I agree with Steve, Lynman. Make sure you are accurate so people always take you seriously.

I was curious about the title myself, but no harm and I am honored that you were motivated to do something so cool by JPF and the work we do. I may not have been there literally, but certainly it appears we were in fact there in spirit.

I am very proud of your efforts Lynman. It looks like you guys are just about there for having a chapter. We're actually working on a brand new JPF Logo which we're refining now. Once we have it done we hope to get it out to all the chapters and perhaps you'll be ready by then!

Congrats again and great group photo! Now you just need a few people wearing JPF hats and t-shirts in the pic to make it look official!

I saw your idea in the picture Brian posted in his tour. Maybe in the succeding years the JPF fever will be feel all over the globe. The life size picture of Brian will become handy to all organizer worldwide.

In the said event I was promoting this site. The collaboration Ive got here, the knowledge in the industry and the spirit of one passion with no boundaries.

Well.. our new logo, though very cool, has a conflict as it has some things in common with another logo so we need to change it. But we're working on it! Til then, the old one will have to do! (I actually like it, but then I've been living with the Red Hat logo and the JPF name since 1985. I started using it back in college for a play I wrote and then for all my music projects.

Thanks!!! I will continue this. Seeing and hearing these passionate songwriters belted their written songs is priceless.

During the event I was telling them to be good not as a songwriters but also a performer. The music industry is taking shape now in favor of the songwriters. BEing a performer will improve their singing and stage fright will minimize. Then they can express their songs with ease. It will also increase the chances their song will be appreciated by more people.

MAybe next month I will add a twist like what JEan did in her songwriting challenge.

Regarding the logo I go with the red hat.

Im having a logo maker software here. I will submit some of my ideas and you can take it or sweep it. Got an idea hOw about open a thread and let the folks create our new logo.

We do have our established logo.. I don't want folks to think we don't. But we are looking at some new ideas to get across what we do a little better.

Got another succesful songwriters afternoon event in the Philippines that happen last September 15, 2007.

This one is the second event after last month.

I heard new songs from them, this monthly event inspire our local songwriters to write new material.

Im still working the 3rd event and I will keep you posted.

I miss the group pictures because some of the performers left so early on the event. Next time Ill do it during the event so everybody is present. Im happy the songwriters are increasing and improving. Their anxieties are almost close to zero.
