An attempt at creating a "bar/live show song" that women (of all ages) could have some fun with -- their ( straight-talk - oh yeah I know how it works) answer to all the "Mr Rights" who return for more noncommittal fun . trying to say "diamond ring" without joining thousands of songs that have used the word "ring" in their title/hook . LOL, Don - don't think you have to worry about this not being unique momma said they'll find your buttons wantin' friction for their Johnsons' This line could just become a classic Thought this was loads of fun - seems like it would do just what you hope. It's kind of "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights" from her point of view. Now I confess to having a couple of brews at dinner and I didn't get enough sleep last night but I just can't quite wrap my brain around this: if you're hopin' I'm thinking it's the thought I've outgrown but I'll try again tomorrow Who cares, really? - just had fun listening..... Hey Scott I'll answer the question first Now I confess to having a couple of brews at dinner and I didn't get enough sleep last night but I just can't quite wrap my brain around this:
if you're hopin' I'm thinking it's the thought I've outgrown
The original (Pre-studio) lines were "If your hopin' I'm thinking maybe" "it's the thought I've outgrown" The flow was the issue that got the "maybe" dropped , and it then became "absent slang" ....... like those words the newspaper has to put in brackets within quotes to advise us what would have been obviously said . Anyways , both people in the theme of this song have one-track minds , so hopefully the listeners will understand what he hopes she's "thinking" about . The entire office staff where I work is female , and I abuse the hell out of them by providing cds of my demo songs . This is one that they actually sing out loud (in harmony during the chorus) LOL . Their favourite however , is the flip side song to this one , about the player who wants his fun , but (as the title suggests) "THEN YOU GO HOME" . They insist it's non-gender , and they actually sing that one aloud (complete with descriptive body language) LOL . The songs that the office girls really like , then goes on my songwriter demo cd that I hand out to the local djs' to play in the bars (during band breaks) . Djs just love $5.00 bills , and I like to sit anonomously at the bar and see the patrons reactions to the songs . Occassionally the djs will make an announcement that it's a new song and point me out at the bar as the songwriter -- and then I become a celebrity for a few free drinks LOL . Everyone wants to know someone in the music business - even if they are only one rung up the ladder from themselves LOL . Anyways , glad you enjoyed it . Don .
