I'm the man that you left drowning in an hourglass, beneath the sands of time I've spent without you. I can still see my dreams above where we spent our perfect love, but there's little I can do.
In the desert that I wander in my glass cage, separated from oasis's we knew, I stagger chasing sweet mirages, on paths that lead me to lost causes, when it comes to loving you.
Chorus-
This hole in my soul just keeps draining any hopes that you will come back to me, cause you're stuck in your own hour glass containing, all escape as well from your misery.
I know in my heart that you still love me and that's the only chance that offers a key.. only love will grant us passes through our lonely hourglasses, restoring all those dreams we know were meant to be.
Bridge-
Let's turn our sorrows upside down, before it's too late and we drown in the remnants of a love that's fading fast, build me a tower in the sand, be my Rapunzel, I'm the man who will rescue you with true love that will last. Chorus- Before this hole in our souls has finished draining any hopes that you will come back to me, and we're left stuck in our own hour glass containing, all escape as well from our sheer misery.
Cause I know in my heart that you still love me and that's the only chance that offers a key.. only love will grant us passes through our lonely hourglasses, restoring all those dreams we know were meant to be.... restoring all those dreams we've lost....eternally.

Hi MFB,
You have some lovely images in here like you always do.
This hole in my soul just keeps draining any hopes that you will come back to me, cause you're stuck in your own hour glass containing, all? escape as well from your misery. Did you mean for all be be I?
I love this line! I stagger chasing sweet mirages
Dottie

Hey Dottie, thanks for the read, and the corrections are always welcome. I had a dream about being trapped in an hourglass and thus the song. Thanks again.~~MFB III

MFB--
I HAVE A 30 MINUTE HOUR GLASS--I WATCH AND LET MY IMAGINATION GO WITH THE SAND--I ONCE SAW A BLUES SINGER IN FLA, AT A SHOW--THIN MAN WATTS!
I'VE IMAGINED HE COULD FALL THROUGH AN HOUR GLASS--HE IS THIN AND COULD HIDE BEHIND A MICROPHONE STAND--THAT'S THIN HUH!
LOTS OF IMAGES THROUGH THE LYRIC--
I LIKE THE TRAIN OF THOUGHT--
WRITE ON!

Matt:
I agree with the others about the "imagery" you've created. This one has some great lines. Not perfect yet... but you are getting there. Best of luck with it.
