I've noticed a lot of jpf don't list an actual location. Are any of you near Carrabelle, FL.?

I live in SW Fl., but my roots are in that area. My family is from Sopchopy, which is south of Tallahassee and north of St. Marks in Wakulla County. My great Grandfather fought for the Confederacy at 18 years old in The Battle For Natural Bridge in St. Marks (one of the last battles of the war) and was wounded. Lots of history in that area. General Andrew Jackson fought the first Seminole war in 1818? around there and eventually took Florida from the Spanish in Pensicola as a result.
Tom Breshers lives in Panama City and may be the nearest JPF member to Carrabelle.

Ben, thanks for responding. Getting to know individuals on jpf has been enlightening. I would have expected you to be an ex-dairy farmer from MI or WS, (shows what I know)
It looks like my husband and I are headed for Carrabelle. The population count and proximity to water and warm weather seems appropriate. I'm sure hoping to keep my access to jpf. and I hear there are music opportunities available.
Do you still have family in Sopchoppy? We spent almost a year in N. Fort Meyers about 2004? Nice, but too crowded/concrete/rushed for us in the long run.

I have lots of family there still. There are even a couple of streets named after ancestors.
I live in N. Ft. Myers on a canal near the river.

I probably helped deliver boats there when I worked for Bulldog.
