My wife and I got married on this date, she must be a saint to stick with me for 50 years.LOL I gave her a cheap diamond ring back then,all I could afford at the time, and I gave her another ring now that probably cost ten times what the other ring cost. I also wrote her a personal song, I don't know which she appreciated the most.LOL The ring most likely, she can show that off to her friends.LOL I don't think we are going to get another 50 years though.

I knew we had alot in common songwriting-wise... but marital longevity can now be added to the list. I've got a one year lead on ya, buddy... and I'm grateful that she has endured my quirks and antics over the years. I'd say we are both extremely lucky fellows... or perhaps just the charming devils we have become in our "old age"... LOL!

Thank you all for your best wishes, the first 50, though rough in spots, was easy to complete, but the second 50 is going to be much harder to accomplish, but I'm willing to try.LOL She's a good woman, a great mother and the best friend a man could have. How I got her and kept her all these years,I'll never know,a gift from God for sure. Thank you Lord.

Don't know whether to congratulate you or give you my sympathy Everett. Only kidding...  A big congratulations! Sandra and I will be celebrating our 43rd on May 2nd. Made me think of an "All in the Family" episode. Archie was with a relative talking about sex in marriage after many years. This relative said sex in such a long term marriage is like having a box of CrackerJax without the surprise in it. Then Archie said; "what's wrong with just the CrackerJax?". Best, John

Ha ha.You guys kill me. Prudence, that's my wife's name, is the mainstay of my life and marriage. Her personalty was what first attracted me to her, very out going, everyone that knows her loves her, I'm the opposite, I'm shy and inverted,a private person, so I guess she compliments me, they say opposites attract. I find it hard to let my guard down, maybe that is why I like writing songs, I can show the real me through my words and still hide.LOL
