I'm sitting here looking out the window The darkness of night is creeping towards the dawn Ice cubes in the glass are slowly melting But like all other nights the Queens not home There's a beat in my head really pounding From a song I was singing last night There's a bottle on the floor somewhere empty It's just another tequila sunrise I stumble out of bed and take a shower Trying to wash these all these cobwebs from my head I look in the mirror and the King looks back at me I must have lost my crown in the bed There's a beat in my head really pounding From a song I was singing last night There's a bottle on the floor somewhere empty It's just another tequila sunrise I'll gather my wits and hold court again today And demand all my Jesters to agree There'll be treats for all and plenty alcohol I'll dare to dance with misery There's a beat in my head really pounding From a song I was singing last night There's a bottle on the floor somewhere empty It's just another tequila sunrise

Since the Eagles has a song like it, ( Tequila sunrise ) which is really famous, all I'm thinking about right now is The Eagles. What about: It's just another "Ole Whiskey Sunrise", or something like that one. Eagles: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ws-YqUcD0LY

Possible Tele but this is what popped in my head knowing there are other songs about tequila, whiskey, beer, bars, and love no matter who made famous. I will wade the water for awhile and see where my fingers go. But i do appreciate your suggestions and as always it's needed by newbies such as myself. Keep up the good work.

I have to agree with Telewanger. You are digging yourself a really deep hole by using a title that is so close to a song that was a huge hit. You would have to be able to write a song that is so much better than the one by the Eagles that no one would make any comparisons. Frankly, this lyric doesn't reach that bar.

THE EAGLE SONG IS GREAT--
JMHO --I WOULD DO SOMETHING LIKE : DRINKING TEQUILA ‘TIL SUNRISE
EXAMPLE:
CH GOT a beat in my head THAT’S CRYING FOR MORE SPURRED BY a song THAT was PLAYING last night MY bottle’S NEAR empty HERE on the floor I'M STILL DRINKING tequila ‘TIL sunrise
THERE’S ALWAYS ANOTHER PHRASE!
Write on--
Mackie

Kurt thanks for the comments. Pretentious I am not to think I could write anything to rival the aforementioned song. Mackie thanks as I am searching!

First Re-write(Broke the tequila bottle)
Whiskey Sour Night
I'm sitting here looking out the window The darkness of night is creeping towards the dawn Ice cubes in the glass are slowly melting But like all other nights the Queens is gone There's a beat in my head really pounding From a song I was singing last night There's a bottle on the floor somewhere empty It's just another whiskey sour night I stumble out of bed and take a shower Trying to wash these all these cobwebs from my head I look in the mirror and the King looks back at me I must have lost my crown in the bed There's a beat in my head really pounding From a song I was singing last night There's a bottle on the floor somewhere empty It's just another whiskey sour night I'll gather my wits and hold court again today And demand all my Jesters to agree There'll be treats for all and plenty alcohol I'll dare to dance with misery There's a beat in my head really pounding From a song I was singing last night There's a bottle on the floor somewhere empty It's just another whiskey sour night Now all of my mornings run together But when dusk meets the day I'm doing well The voices that I hear are not from drinking beer Just look around you'll find my bottle near There's a beat in my head really pounding From a song I was singing last night There's a bottle on the floor somewhere empty It's just another whiskey sour night Another whiskey sour night
