This one has been many years in the making. Thought first came to me when I lost my dad in 1996. My mom died three years later. It has taken me twelvae additional years to get this one down on paper, but finally did.
HOW PRECIOUS THE TIME
c2011 Brian Beecher
How precious the time How precious the time How precious the time we have
Don’t just trust your luck As you could be way off track Important decisions now come back
To make the wrong choice Rather than the right one haunts As you go off the deep end To satisfy another’s wants
How precious the time How precious the time How precious the time we have
Complex energies are in force Putting a damper on your days Though to get an early start pays
The urge to seek out memories From childhood or the past Could provide some respite In an ages when life moves so fast
How precious the time How precious the time How precious the time we have
The ability to cope could be At a lower ebb as energy And enthusiasm slide downhill
Pursuits longs and enduring Are unlikely to stand up And escapism makes life stand still
How precious the time How precious the time How precious the time we have

well sorry about your loss... it's a difficult time to lose loved ones and never gets easier the next time...
Anyways this is a good lyric... I like the chorus the most and your off to a good start on the verses...
I believe you can add to the lyric by putting something personal in like a good experience you had with your parents like a trip or a special time in your lives...

Hi Brian Ditto to the comment SP.I like the flow but feel the complex energies V may be a little difficult in a song. JMO With Regards Travis

Thanks for weighing in on this one. As stated in the intro, it has now been twelve years since I lost my parents. Funny that last night I had a dream of meeting up with them for a typical regret over mistakes made conference. Strange that this one came up after all this time. Usually, though, I cannot remember intimate details of dreams once I awaken. If I did I would have a lot of fodder for songs.
Peace, Brian

Hi Brian This lyric is good but without a melody I have difficulty imagining how its unusual structure goes together. Good work though. Vic

"If someone is truly a jerk, or truly is not deserving of any positive reply from you, polite indifference is the best response you can give. Do not insult. Do not slam. Do not follow the urge to be nasty. Simply be politely indifferent." –Brian Austin Whitney
