What are your music-related New Year's resolutions? Or, if you think that's silly, what goals do you plan on working on during 2011? I'll start.
1. Write more songs. Writing songs is easy - writing good songs is extremely difficult. Like the saying goes, if you want to grow anything, you need a lot of fertilizer. I believe that if I write every single day, even just a little, I ought to be able to come up with songs I think are good enough to record. Once I have enough, I'll record a new CD.
2. Choose a direction. I'm so scattered I can't market myself. I want to be more of a John Mayer type guy - sort of like pop/rock/jazz. Sounds like I don't need to choose a direction - sounds like I just chose one. Strike that off the list.
3. Get off my ass and get more gigs. Can't put it any simpler than that. I've had a press kit 90% done now for 8 months. I need to play a ton of gigs at different places and hopefully find some more regular places I can gig at.
How about the rest of you?

The only New Year's resolution regarding my music that I was ever able to keep was to not make any more resolutions.

"If someone is truly a jerk, or truly is not deserving of any positive reply from you, polite indifference is the best response you can give. Do not insult. Do not slam. Do not follow the urge to be nasty. Simply be politely indifferent." –Brian Austin Whitney
