Hello fellow musicians. I am a Guitarist / Bassist residing in the South Nashville / Franklin Tennessee area. I just found this message board service and joined. This is my first post here. I'm tired of playing cover tunes, Top hits, and all the oldies that every band in the world has played to death. I'd really like to meet up with local musicians, lyricists, vocalists, for the possibility of developing a new band with our own style and sound, playing original music only. Just for fun, and who knows, maybe some shows and recording down the road some day. I'm 52 years of age. I'm not interested in playing with Youngsters, trouble-makers, or druggies. Serious people only. If you're in my area and I can be of service, give me a shout. I also have a drummer friend that is willing to play with us if needed. Thanks.
Music should not sound like noise, and noise should never be called Music

Hi Karl,
You might want to ask Mike Dunbar. He lives in Hendersonville and knows everybody and their brother around the area. He may be able to point you in the right direction. Good luck!

Hello Karl:
Welcome to JPF. It's good to see a "Franklinite" here with us. Being a former Brentwooder (years ago) on the Crockett Springs side, I wish you success in finding what you seek. My youngest daughter graduated from Franklin High School with Wynona Judd.
Your objective of finding mature musicians with the intent of forming a group might be well-served in making contact with Mike Dunbar, a well respected bass player and mentor to most of us here. Hopefully, he will see your post and contact you... but I see that Tom Yeager has also "weighed-in" and he knows Mike.
Regardless, I wish you success and all the satisfaction that goes with it. As you know, breaking into the limelight in Nashville is a tough nut to crack... but not impossible with the right talent and the right connections. Mike will be a great place to start.
Here's hoping to hear more from you here on our plethora of subject oriented boards. Welcome again.
Dave Rice

I live in Whites Creek (in the hills just north of Nashville). I've been known to write a song or two. I play out semi-sorta regularly. Do you sing? You can hear some of my stuff at my MySpace page.

I used to play guitar until multiple sclerosis took that away. Now I do my melodies acapella even though my singing is more crooning than anything else. I write lyrics too and here's a link to my latest: Love's The Best Song - DrifterGood luck getting your band together! -Dave
