Hi everybody
I am so happy its the best day of my life,we were nominated in 2006 and now Krosswindz has been nominated for the Just Plain Folks 2009 Music Awards(The Grass root Grammy's in the US)being held in Nashville Tennessee USA .Krosswindz has been nominated in 2 categories best Indian album and Best Indian song.
BEST INDIAN SONG NOMINEES-
The song Jajaabor Pokkhi written and composed by Chandrani Banerjee and music arranged by Tuki and KROSSWINDZ from the album MISIKI MISIKI has been nominated in the Best Indian Song category.Other nominees include notable composers like AR Rahman,Ilaiyaraaja,Corina Bartra from New York etc.
BEST INDIAN ALBUM NOMINEES-
The album MISIKI MISIKI by KROSSWINDZ has been nominated in the Best Indian Album category.Other nominees include notable composers like AR Rahman,Ilaiyaraaja,Doug Cox & Salil Bhatt with Ramkumar Mishra from British Columbia etc.
I am so excited i wish our US toue was happening one month earlier then we could have attended the ceremony,we will be touring from Sep till Oct,i look forward to meeting as many JPF members as possible and of course foremost meet Brian!

If i had the money, i'd be flying right away and kidnap someone's piano. hmm shall put lottery the following weeks, so far the date is free, i'm having an important gig early september though.

We're going to put together some press stuff Priscilla, but our web person is going on vacation (bad timing) and it may not get up for another week and a half! (argh!).
We've never sent out a press release of any kind about JPF, but I can write one that nominees can send out that you can use as a basis for your own. I'll work on that this weekend.

thanks for offering,am really feeling very bad that we are missing the ceremony by about 3 weeks,its just that our US Visa is from September or else i would have spent money and come earlier and attended for sure.
About the press release please send it out soon,i am getting the 3 top daily newspaper's of Calcutta to cover this story along with some magazines here in India.They are all very very excited about our nomination and the magnitude of the event.

Send me an email with what you need and I will respond directly since this is a slow way to communicate back and forth. Last time I think we were covered in 10 different Indian newspapers as there was a distributor who had several nominees and heavily promoted it. But they didn't enter anything this time around so I don't know if the other nominees are making the effort. Since his Oscar Win, AR Rahman is probably too busy to notice! hahaha, (He entered before the Oscars last year).

Priscilla ..I was coming up short too...but just had a 2 day yard sale on Thursday and Friday...(don't know if y'all do that in Spain or not or what it might be called)..but I made enough for plane fare or motel and gas.... maybe there's something a bit out of the ordinary you could think of like that..? best....
