I've reached the point where I'm Dead-Serious about selling off my Clock Business & entering the Music Biz full-time.
A Branson MO Mover-&-Shaker's Daughter JUST recorded Andy Karpinsky's & My "IT'S O.K. TO CRY" last week..& called Saturday night to Congratulate Us. He's ALSO expressed interest in buying my Ansonia Street Clock out front..BUT hasn't made the deal HAPPEN yet/My Creditors are..shall we say.."Getting Anxious."
So..after 6 weeks of being "dangled"..I'm now seeking out Middlemen to find me Another Buyer..for an Incredibly RARE Object/'Tain't gonna go too-cheaply.
But..ya only need to find that ONE Person who wants to Make It Happen...& I'm frankly too-dern-busy to do it myself.
So..HERE's What's For Sale/YES I can send ya Pics..just email me at TampaStan@hotmail.com or Call Me at (813)-240-0301/(813)-876-2707. Finder's Fee: $500-for-you/$500-for-JPF..(Or ya can donate ALL of it to JPF & I'm sure Brian'll Appreciate That!) (Which IS what I'd planned on doing if MY Deal'd worked out earlier.)
Here come the Clock Specs: 19 1/2 Feet Tall (Tallest Street Clock Ever MADE) and about 1000 lbs of Cast Iron. Long-Ago Sandblasted & Primered-well...it's JUST had its 4th New Paint Job, a nice Blue-Green Aquamarine-Bronz-y Finish.
There are only FOUR of these known to exist..2 Up North, 1 in Seattle, & Mine. Mine's been a Tampa Landmark in front of my Clock Shop these last 25 years. With NO Tampa Buyer Interested I know of...& me with an Unsold House that's cost me dearly..& me gettin' old enough to cash it all-out/retire..& Clock Biz not doing what it Oughta..this clock sale is Our "Plan 'B'" at the moment.
I have the Original Movement & Weight, & Pendulum. Also a NEW 2-year old Synchronous Electric Boston-Gear Movement made just 2 years ago, by a 2nd Generation Tower Clock Restorer, Frank Jackson Jr. (The Former's good to A-Minute-A-Day..the Latter Movement's DEAD-Accurate as long as normal 110V AC keeps flowing.)
This Street Clock is one of the Earliest-Made, also, having 2 wooden dials/NO Bezel-Glass to deal-with. (Clock Shop's about a block away from a Titty-bar/never had to replace Dials..heh!) These are made from Marine Plywood..Numerals copied from Reprint Ansonia 1886-7 Catalogue. Hands are Authentic Repros, as-well..Have the Original Dial Gears, Hand-Hubs & Counterweights.
Two Versions were made of this.."Smooth" & "Ornate"...This One's The Latter..it's Quite-Impressive from Quite-a-Distance..and All The Street-Clocks-Copied-&-On-The-Market So-Far are about 16-to-16 1/2 feet tall/NO Molds exist on this one. None have been for-sale the last 25 Years, either..to my knowledge. (IF you'd like to Copy This One...you'd recoup your investment with probably Two Sales.) But...I'd prefer it NOT be copied/it then STAYS Rare for The Long-Term.
So..here comes the Drumroll/Cymbal Crash... Price: $50K. I'll hire the Crane & De-Mount it. You supply the Truck..needs a 2 1/2 ton/WILL slide-in & fit. I'll truck it to Wherever @ $150-a-day/plus Gas...or leave it in your hands.
So..Folks...If you know some Bigwig at City Hall..or a Mall or Label Owner..or ANYONE who'd like Something-Special in his Back or Front Yard...(or "Beside-The-Pool")...heh...Have WE got a Clock For You!
It's "One of A Kind"--FOR A "One-Of-A-Kind".

Stan
Are you kidding??? This 100 year old clock cost only 50 grand???
The rarity of this jewel can fetch more than that. Send me the picture and I will post that in ebay. WE will start the bidding at 50k plus shipping.
Whatever exceeds from the amount of yours lets donate it to JPF.

HiYa Doc!
Been told it was worth about $60K a few years back. "The Competition's" NEW-Ones, cast from Old Ones. For about $30K you can get a nice NEW Powdercoated ALUMINUM Re-pop...(of the SMALLER Ones.) So...heh..THIS one's only gonna appeal to Someone Seriously-Interested in a Rare OLD One. And..the New Ones have decreased The Market for Old Ones.
No Problemo...BUT...I'm NOT wanting to post it on Ebay..because I dunno IF it'll reach The Minimum "Reserve" there...AND..ya get to pay 'em Something even IF it DOESN'T...Best-I-Recollect.
I'd far-prefer dealing One-On-One with An Interested Buyer. (Got a customer in today with a 40-Foot-Morgan..told HIM about the clock..& I'm currently fixing his Ship's Clock. He's a biggie at the Tampa Yacht Club...MIGHT just keep this Giant in Tampa...yet. If So...I'll send the $1K to JPF, as-promised.)
WILL send ya pics..but No Ebay..(Please?) WILL sendya the $500 Finder's Fee if ya can find me that Buyer... &..heh..it Only Takes One.
Best Wishes, Big Guy-Hug, Stan
PS: Anyone interested...ya can take a quick peek at <CDBaby.com/TampaStan/1>...It's on the Cover of my Freshman CD, "Don't You Ever Grow Old"/(That's Me with the Beer Can hangin' on it..for Scale!) ;-)> (Maybe drop the /1 if they've changed search format lately...)
