Challenge 13
The goal of our "Song Challenges" is to write songs/lyrics on demand within set parameters. We don't critique each other's songs in this thread (but you can say you like someone's song if you want to.) Please post your original works. If you have already written a song/lyric that fits within the parameters, please feel free to post it.
This week's challenge is to write a song featuring the three words: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow. The three words may be in a foreign language if you wish but most of the song should be in English. You may pluralize them or add apostrophes if you wish. You must use all 3 words. You do not have to use them as part of the hook or chorus, but it would be cool if you could manage that.
Good luck and have fun!

Hello Jean,
Lucky number thirteen.
Here is my lyric "Brokenhearted Blues.
Nathan ***
Brokenhearted Blues Yesterday is fading While today lingers on Tomorrow if I'm lucky I can move on along
I'm getting over you This hard hand dealt Saddest experience That I have ever felt
You raised the limits Cooked all the books Just to see if I had The faith that it took
To trust fully in you But I'm fading to blues Yesterday's memory Today's broken fool
Yesterday is fading While today lingers on Tomorrow if I'm lucky I can move on along
Get back to loving me Find some liberty An eraser for this memory Of a broken heart
Yesterday is fading While today lingers on Tomorrow if I'm lucky I can move on along
Face tomorrow's blues And celebrate truth Yesterday's memory Today's broken fool
Yesterday's memory Brokenhearted blues

Hey Jean, Here goes again...
(V1) Today, I find my heart is aching for a world in which we all can live in peace. Today, I see so much of life is waking to news of tragic stories that won't cease.
(C) What was different yesterday? Why did innocence up and move away? Now, we live next door to fear and sorrow. And I'm wondering, what will this world be like tomorrow.
(V2) Today, an angry wind is strongly blowing taking what it wants with all its might. Today, ignorance has its head showing and intolerance sure loves to pick a fight.
(C) What was different yesterday? Why did innocence up and move away? Now, we live next door to fear and sorrow. And I'm wondering, what will this world be like tomorrow.
(B) They say history repeats itself. I wonder why that's so. For, if we change the way we do things now won't we change the things that follow?
(V3) Today, I feel a sense of hope and wonder. Somehow we will find a better way. Today, we'll come out from this cloud we're under and remember there was a time when we did say...
(C) What was different yesterday? Why did innocence up and move away? Now, we live next door to fear and sorrow. And I'm wondering, what will this world be like tomorrow.

Hi Jean, Thanks for another assignment.
"Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow" (c)2007 Lynn Orloff
Our beginning was your smile, It just took me by surprise, Never thought I'd fall in love, But I had never seen your eyes.
At that moment it was settled, I was clearly taken in, Darling that was yesterday, And I'd do it all again.
Yesterday I fell in love with you, And today that love is sure, I pray I'm blessed to see tomorrow, Just for the chance to love you more.
Everyday we spend together, Is a gift my heart receives, I wonder if you realize, You're the reason my soul breathes.
Yesterday I fell in love with you, And today that love is sure, I pray I'm blessed to see tomorrow, Just for the chance to love you more.
Bridge As time goes on my love will grow, Take my hand and don't let go...
Yesterday I fell in love with you, And today tht love is sure, I pray I'm blessed to see tomorrow, Just for the chance to love you more, Just for the chance to love you more.

Okay. Here's my first song challenge entry.
Every Moment Today © Copyright 2007 Peter J. Ferraro. All Rights Reserved. v. My history's filled with the actions Of a young man carefree and wild Thought I knew it all Thought I’d never fall But I saw through the eyes of a child
v. Looking over my shoulder I see them The mistakes that I'm paying for now They're here every day And they won't go away They're the creases you see on my brow
c. I don't hold on too tightly to yesterday Like the others it soon fades away Tomorrow may never find me So I live every minute today
v. There was a time when they told me I'd be lucky to see one more year There was no way to win So I turned to sin But despite all of that I'm still here
c. I don't hold on too tightly to yesterday Like the others it soon fades away Tomorrow may never find me So I live every minute today.
v. The ghosts of my past they still haunt me Tomorrow may not come to pass My life is this minute I intend to be in it Each moment could still be my last
c. I don't hold on too tightly to yesterday Like the others it soon fades away Tomorrow may never find me So I'm living my life for today
b. No I cant change what I've done in the past If I could I'd be different today I am what I am Doing all that I can Every night I kneel down and pray
c. And thank God for all of my yesterdays They made me what I am today If tomorrow never finds me I'll be thankful that I had today
coda No don't hold on too tightly to yesterday Like the others it soon fades away Tomorrow may never find you So live every minute today.
tag No. Tomorrow may never find you So live every moment today

Today will be yesterday tomorrow, So can't you just get over this today? Tomorrow's not here yet but let's borrow From the lessons that we learned yesterday. If you'll stop cussing for a minute, I'm asking you for another second chance. The hour is at hand to begin it. Start forgiving me for circumstance.
How was I to know she was your sister? Yesterday you said you were an only child. You know she looks like you. I can't resist her. So how come today you're going wild? Tomorrow we'll be wondering what the big deal was That put me on the couch and left you lying awake You know you'll have to get over the heel I was. Start forgiving me for my mistake.
Yesterday is gone! You can't relive it. Tomorrow's not here yet so don't fret. Why waste your time on time you can't touch? Don't you know that 'now' is all you get?
Today I only kissed your sister. It's not like the barmaid yesterday. Oh, you say you didn't know that? Well, today's tomorrow so forget it anyway. I'm seeing the upside of your Alzheimer's. I can tolerate and just wait out your rants. Soon you'll get distracted by the TV. And start forgiving me for circumstance.
There will always be another song to be written. Someone will write it. Why not you? www.garyeandrews.com

And nicely done by the gents as well. Nice variety from everyone. It's interesting to see the different approaches inspired by the same challenge.

Hi Everybody, here's my idea... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Will I Live, WIll I Love © words and music by C. Stewart ( August 22, 2007 )
Yesterday was rainy I felt so confined You know I've gotta have a little space
Today I'm feeling groovy Soaking up the wine The grapes have put a smile upon my face
One day, you're lookin' out the window of gloom The next day all the flowers bloom
Chorus... But no one knows what tommorrow will bring WIll I laugh, or cry, will I dance and sing But no one knows what tommorrow will bring Will I live, will I love
Yesterday the car quit Had to use my feet I screamed a lot of four letter words
Today I hit the jackpot With friends down the street I don't mind splitting it in thirds
One day, you're lookin' out the window of gloom The next day all the flowers bloom
Chorus... But no one knows what tommorrow will bring WIll I laugh, or cry, will I dance and sing But no one knows what tommorrow will bring Will I love, will I love
Will I live, Will I love Will I live, WIll I love
Chorus... But no one knows what tommorrow will bring WIll I laugh, or cry, will I dance and sing But no one knows what tommorrow will bring Will I love, will I love

Hey, Calvin, I'm becomming a big fan. I gotta compliment you on your rhyme play. The climb before the chorus is killer. The song has a great upbeat attitude too. Yeah...it rained yesterday, but the sun is shining today :-) Great philosophy.
As usual...I like it

Hey, Calvin, Seems I always get something positive from your songs. It ain't flattery. It's unadulterated praise!
