Hi Folks,
I have 4 shows left on the Midwest Leg of the 2007 Roadtrip Tour. (KC, St. Louis, Indianapolis and our house party back home). For those participating in the Southeast or Europe portion of the tour, I will update you all as soon as I am home next week.
So far all the shows have been wonderful. I usually know that on a given tour, 1 show will be disaster, but so far that hasn't happened. Everyone has been friendly, the venues have been wonderful and the talent has actually surpassed my expectations, and that's saying a lot after this many years on the road. I've found at least 1 artist who moved me, made me laugh and blew me away with their talent (or improvement) at every stop. And I've made some cool new friends in every city. We're even still above breaking even, so it really couldn't go better.
I left the JPF banners in Omaha, so that's been the only real glitch, and it's a minor one. I'll have them back in Indy thanks to my hosts Cher and Ben Lane who are shipping them home. I've posted group photos from all the shows so far on the general board, so take a look and see some of your fellow members from around the midwest. I wish everyone could stay til the end of every show and if they had, we'd have 30-50% more people in each photo. Last night the show in Des Moines was so crowded people were literally sitting on the floor in the aisles and out the door to watch.
I am way overdue for a newsletter and hope to get one out next week. Overall, it's been a wonderful trip!
Brian

Sounds like you've recovered pretty well from your beguinning of the tour illnesses. {Sometimes it takes the body a little time to adjust to being on the road, but you know that already!] It's totally different from a "normal"life. Here's hoping the second half of the tour is as great as the first half! Take care of youself Brian!

Brian, I know from my experience at your showcases, that many folks are having the time of their lives! And you are providing such a wonderful platform for them, which is unlike anything else "out there". Much different from the usual coffee house experience.
You are doing great work. This proves that one person can make a huge difference in many people's lives. Your work has continued results for me at least! Congrats and thanks for doing that! I know I speak for us all who have been to one of your showcases.
Have a great and safe tour!
John
