I would like a good preamp for recording lead vocals, preferibly in the $500 range. Is there anything out there that will make a noticeable improvement over the cheap pres in my MOTU 896? Has anyone used a Really Nice Pre ? Thanks, Eric ------------------ Eric Goetz (206) 818-2546 http://www.ericgoetz.com [This message has been edited by ericgoetz (edited 04-30-2004).]

If you can find a Symetrix 302 or 202 these are nice, clean, no-nonsence preamps which are available for less than $200. I've heard great things about the Great River pres, and I love Neves myself, but these are expensive.
