JT,
I haven't used one yet. I do know that the Behringer boards have really taken over the low end/good quality mixing board market recently though. It appears that Mackie is focusing on Studio Monitors these days. I own mackie stuff (I have their rack mounted line mixers for my stack of keyboard), but I have heard good things about the new stuff from Behringer.

I purchased a Behringer mic recently and find, for the money, it is a pretty dandy little piece of equipment. (it was about a $200 mic and I got it for 70 bucks)
model is B-1. Nothing too fancy, but it really does pick up the "high ends" much better than my Shure 58 for recording. Actually it picks up everything!!!

The Behringer ECM-8000 is an excellent mic for the money, costing around $35. It's a small condenser mic that works great when used for acoustic guitar, piano, or for drum overheads.
For seventy bucks you gotta get two, since you'll need a matched stereo pair to get a nice stereo sound on the above mentioned instruments.
As far as their large condenser mics go, I wasn't too impressed with their sound... I'll just leave it at that.
