DALLAS, TX – With the popularity of “reality” TV at an all-time high, Garage Radio raises the bar with a new concept in streaming entertainment by launching series called “From the Garage to the Radio,” which will follow the construction of a heavy Rock band from the audition and hire of four Dallas area musicians, through and beyond their first live gig. The series will be presented in half hour weekly shows and streamed from Garage Radio in both audio and video.
“From the Garage to the Radio” will air completely uncensored and feature personal interviews with the band members throughout the entire series, creating a “live” biography of a real band in the making. The series will also take viewers into the band’s practice sessions, the song-writing process, and business decisions after which the band hopes to cut a demo and market themselves to labels throughout the US and Europe.
Garage Radio is scheduled to begin auditions on Jan. 2 2004. Garage Radio Founder, Mike Foxworthy, will both produce the show and participate as the band’s drummer, “We’ve wanted to raise the bar for independent artists in order to achieve global acceptance. This is a new project that will not only bring attention to GR, but also to the artists that have made it so great. The show will also be a great opportunity to show off our capabilities.”
The auditions will be open all musicians, male and female, in the Dallas area possessing Heavy Metal and hard Rock influences both new and old. The band will consist of a drummer, singer/guitarist, lead guitarist and bass player. Musicians with good songwriting skills and working gig experience are considered a plus. Garage Radio will be judging musicians based on ability, creativity, image, attitude, and dedication. Garage Radio is also putting a call out to anyone with video production, camera handling experience and interested sponsors.
“Our goal is to show that a band can be successful under independent management using the most professional production methods possible,” stated John Foxworthy, Co-Founder of Garage Radio, “We believe that this’ll be a cool way to springboard a lot of careers.”
Inquiries about participating in “From the Garage to the Radio” on any level may be emailed to John Foxworthy at Roadrash@garageradio.com.
A reasonable man adapts himself to suit his environment. An unreasonable man persists in attempting to adapt his environment to suit himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man. - George Bernard Shaw, 1856 - 1950

"If someone is truly a jerk, or truly is not deserving of any positive reply from you, polite indifference is the best response you can give. Do not insult. Do not slam. Do not follow the urge to be nasty. Simply be politely indifferent." –Brian Austin Whitney
