Hi everyone, I plan to participate in this event, it definitely promotes such a positive mission. See for yourself at http://www.live8live.com JustPlainJill [img] http://www.broadjam.com/userimages/15006_32369.gif?230602[/img] ___________________________ "This is not Live Aid 2." Museum of Art, Philadelphia - July 2nd, 2005 LIVE 8 is calling for people across the world to unite in one call – in 2005 it is your voice we are after, not your money. These concerts are the start point for The Long Walk To Justice, the one way we can all make our voices heard in unison. This is without doubt a moment in history where ordinary people can grasp the chance to achieve something truly monumental and demand from the 8 world leaders at G8 an end to poverty. The G8 leaders have it within their power to alter history. They will only have the will to do so if tens of thousands of people show them that enough is enough. By doubling aid, fully cancelling debt, and delivering trade justice for Africa, the G8 could change the future for millions of men, women and children." -Bob Geldof Museum of Art, Philadelphia - July 2nd, 2005 Will Smith (host) Bon Jovi Maroon 5 P Diddy Stevie Wonder Jay-Z The Dave Matthews Band Sarah McLachlan Rob Thomas Keith Urban 50 Cent Kaiser Chiefs ------------------ [This message has been edited by justplainjill (edited 06-08-2005).] [This message has been edited by justplainjill (edited 06-08-2005).] [This message has been edited by justplainjill (edited 06-08-2005).]

Hi JP Friends, I am very surprised at the lack of response or maybe interest to the Live 8 information I posted. Is it because most of us live so far from horrific poverty? What we can not see with our physical eyes DOES exhist and has been happening forever but NOW IS THE OPPORTUNITY TO SUPPORT A HISTORICAL AND POSITIVE CHANGE. This is not about politics; it is about finding compassion (no money even being asked folks!) for each human being, just like me and you, planned for God's purpose. We are the world's largest MUSIC industry organization in the world and if WE can not respond and/or stand with the efforts of Live 8 musical talents then what other music community will? It doesn't get any bigger than US RIGHT HERE people. Please reconsider and visit www.live8live.com to become educated about the goal behind the music. JustPlainJill
Welcome to Just Plain Folks: We are an ever growing group of Songwriters, Recording Artists, Music Publishers, Record Labels, Performing Arts Societies, Educational Institutions, Recording Studios and Engineers, Producers, Legal Professionals, Publicists and Journalists, Publications, Music Manufacturers and Retailers and about every other type of member of the Music Industry. Our members have won Grammys, Emmys, CMA Awards, Academy Awards, Clios and about every local and regional music related award there is. Our members belong to and are staff and board members of the finest National and International organizations such as NARAS, BMI, ASCAP, SESAC, SOCAN, PRS, NAMM, AES, NARM, NAPM, NAC, SGA, AFM, Indiegrrl, TCG, CMA, MWI, NSAI, TSAI, LAWIM, ISA, TAXI and most of the regional and local songwriter and music industry organizations around the world. We warmly embrace and welcome ALL genres of music, and everyone who creates, facilitates and consumes music around the world. Our goals here are simple and straight forward. Among them are: 1: To provide a networking environment of inclusion and cooperation between our members for the benefit of the group and individuals involved. 2: To share wisdom, ideas and experiences with others who have been there, and to help educate those who have yet to make the journey. 3: To form long term relationships with a myriad of other industry professionals whose talents and efforts need a venue to be enjoyed and benefited from. 4: To set the example for the world of the power of the Internet and total freedom of communication, when it is not restricted by the boundaries of the corporate world, or damaged by the adversarial nature of the music industry in general. 5: To show others that deep down, we are all much more alike than different. The thoughts and hopes and dreams we all share are much the same whether we are Grammy Winners, Hit Songwriters, Industry leading Superstars in our fields, or we are an 11 year old kid with a new dream, or a 78 year old who still dares to dream! 6: And the most important goal: To have a lot of fun doing it! So please join us! Participate. Learn. Teach. Share your dream, and help others achieve theirs! Remember, "We are all in this together." http://www.jpfolks.comJill Sansores

"If someone is truly a jerk, or truly is not deserving of any positive reply from you, polite indifference is the best response you can give. Do not insult. Do not slam. Do not follow the urge to be nasty. Simply be politely indifferent." –Brian Austin Whitney
