DID HE LOVE ME (c) 1998 Lyrics and Music by Bobbie Gallup and John Bizzack, ASCAP
She's always been as good as she had to be And always as bad as she dared Now it's too late for her to die young But she now longer cares She acts like she has it all As life keeps on passing her by Every night in the quiet of her room She drifts back to once upon a time
Chorus: And the kiss she remembers wanting most in her life Is the one that she never got She'll always wonder for the rest of her life Did he love me…or did he not
Love makes a woman forget about time Time makes her forget about love Forgetting may be the easy part 'Cause livin' without is rough Sometimes two halves don't make a whole When two hearts aren't laid on the line When you're afraid of the answers, who wants to know It's best to keep some hope alive
Chorus: Repeat
Bridge: The last time she saw him, she felt she knew the answer And she also knew… he was going away But he never told her…exactly how he felt So now she prefers to live in yesterday
Love makes a woman forget about time Time makes her forget about love Forgetting may be the easy part 'Cause livin' without is awful rough
Chorus: Repeat And the kiss she remembers wanting most in her life Is the one that she never got She'll always wonder for the rest of her life Did he love me…or did he not

Bobbie, I would really like to hear this. Do you have an MP3 of it? I loved it! Now you did make me cry. Ria

hello Bobbie, this is a very wistful song full of the emotions that make your heart come to life with remembered feelings. There is also many deeper philosophical images portraid which I liked. (but maybe that is just my reading of it). there were some slightly choppy phrases in the reading, but I'm sure with the music they work perfectly. the only one that tripped me up, was the first line in the bridge. the wording works, and the idea works, it just didn't seem to fit structurally. again, it probably works with the music though. good job

Awwww...I am sorry, Ria. Actually, as I recall, I cried myself the first time I heard this one with the music. I don't yet have an MP3 of it, but the next time Shayne does a compilation CD, I think I will put this one on it. It has always been one of my favorites of those I have demoed.
J, the music does make the difference there on the bridge. It is a real shift to a minor key and has almost an Eagles sound to it.
Thanks so much for the read and kind comments!
Bobbie

Now this I REALLY like! My kind of song for sure. Picked up that Eagles feel right away, I've always been a major fan, reminded me of 'Girl From Yesterday'. Good one!

Bobbie, I guess most women can relate tothis song in some shape or form. I certainly can relate to large parts of it. Sounds like you already have your music to it, but when I sang it the last line of the verses just before the chorus seemed to need to be repeated - before singing the chorus and then at the end the last line of the chorus repeated itself also. Probably an entirely different sound than you put on it. In 1st verse - I wanted to say - "But she now no longer cares", and the 2nd verse "forgetting maybe the easiest part" End result - it a great song, will stir lots of emotions for lots of women.

Hi Denise!
Missed you around these parts lately. You actually caught a typo there in the line.."But she 'NO' longer cares." Not enough room to stuff any additional syllables or extra lines in this one. There actually isn't even any musical interlude between verse and chorus...the song just flows from one to the next.
I really wanted to get a feeling for people's reaction to this one before it goes to the pluggers. Thank you so much for taking time to read and give me some feedback on this one. I am deeply appreciative!
When are we going to see some more from you?
Bobbie
