Ok, sat down and wrote this after work today. Tried hard to use what I learned from Wyman and Bobbie. Not sure, so be tough! EVen a rock can learn if it gets pounded long enough and hard enough *GRIN* Thanks in advance, Robert
Lord Teach Me (To Be Your Servant) © Robert C. Evans January 12, 2001
Chorus Lord teach me to be your servant That I may worship you Let others see the love of Christ In everything I do
V1 I Want to be like the man who Brings all the children on the bus He’s always there through rain or shine I’d like to be part of his crew
V2 The man who sits on the back pew Greeting all that come through the door He has a smile for everyone Always has a kind word or two (Chorus)
V3 They teach at the academy Teaching math and morality Wish I could have been taught like that It’s a place every child should be
V4 Thanks for the man who’s reaching me Lessons gleaned from your holy word The shepherd who cares for your flock Cause without him were would I be (Chorus)

hI..Robert...I loved your chorus... I see your trying different rhymein...Do you think the first verse works rhyme wise..and the sound of it? I think the rest do..imo..Content.verse 4 I think needs re-constructed to be clearer on who you're talkin about..I know...but don't think it's as clear as it should be....my take. and on that...Why not substitute Christ in first line. of that verse..don't think on these types of songs it can be overemphasized, ya know? LOL, Kaley I'm laughing at me, not you! The 4th verse really needs work! The man I was referring to was the preacher, not Christ. For me, I've heard the pastor referred to as a shepherd so many times it was just automatic for me. Asked my teenage daughter, she thought I meant Christ also. So.. thanks for the help, I will work on the 4th verse. The 1st verse however, at the moment I disagree with you and rather like it as is. However, if your willing to be more blunt with me, why doesn't it work for you? I'm open to being educated, as always. Thanks again, Robert

Robert...hi...I don't know...I studied it and studied it ..and said I don't know... but maybe it has to do with the "WHO" I guess I thought that belonged with the Phrase on the Next Line line....imo hey, by the way...I took a try at my first Contemporary Christian Song under the unlikely title....The Lion's Gonna Roar. Kaley. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/smile.gif) ..hope you get another take on this... hey...I went back and took a look at your last verse...and I see what you're sayin... because the ministers are to act as sheperds..with their flocks...but I'm glad you laughed...and didn't think i was Krazy... well maybe I am........hehe
