nice looking website. I remember when you first joined jpf -- you were mighty good then, and then you just keep better and better. Very clean recording sound. You write songs for the rest of us. Nice stuff, good performance.

I really enjoyed this--after listening myself and reading the other comments, I've figured out who you are as an artist--a little bit of Dylan, a little bit of Joel, and a little bit of you. The "you" part makes it your music, but some real nice influences!

Just taking a spin thru here again after a while, and I knew it'd be a pleasure to start my MP3 tour with one of your songs.
As usual, you did not disappoint. I agree with Ed's comments about your influences, and that yet the sum total is uniquely you. I've always enjoyed how your musication is so well-suited to my favorite part of your songs, the lyrics. You are a terrific story-teller, and get a lot of bang for your buck with each turn of phrase. I particularly liked:

and

One technical note: I loved how you used the same rhyme scheme in the verses. When you commit to that sort of format, it can be challenging, but clearly, it didn't impede you in any way.

When I first read that I thought, man after reading 6 opinions and listening to a 2 1/2 minute song, he's figured out who I am as an artist, wow. After 5 years of trying to learn to write songs and in the process, define myself as an artist, not feeling any closer to accomplishing the latter, you can imagine I was taken aback when I read that. But it's all good. BTW: Dylan is indeed my A #1 guy... Good call.

I like the reflective nature in the lyrics and the thoughtful way you deliver them! The story is one where we can fill in the blanks and relate to the stories. It's very emotional when you turn it to first person and offer support to the listener at the same time. Well done.

Beth Beth U R 2 KIND. Not a lot of lyrics, so I had to make’em count. This is my shortest song to date. As opposed to this Sets Me Free my longest song to date. Being so long winded usually, I just wanted to see if I could do something short but still impactful. Thrilled you enjoyed it and good to “see” you as well.

I really, really loved the sparse quality of the arrangement and the wonderful story you tell with this one. Your vocals are as rich and layered as ever and the combination of story, arrangement and vocal here is amazing. I loved it.

Your vocals are always "like butter!" So easy. So relaxed. Smooth. Man I wish I could sing like that. Love the harp. Really love everything about this tune. Kind of feel like I said that about all the tunes I have heard from you.

I LOVE THIS WRITE!! What a great lyric!! Always love listening to you my friend. I do have one tiny suggestion. In that first line, don't rest on the word "IS", I just had a phrasing issue with the first line, but great stuff, I now have happy ears!!!

Yes, it's a fact. After you post it the flaws seem to show up.
Also the flaws seem to get bigger with each listen.
I'm constantly tweaking mine, even to the point of obsession.
