The song in my heart was playing on the radio

1st verse
The lines on the freeway, began to fade
As I saw the city limit sign, the radio played
I looked forward far enough, just to see
Our house on the hillside, waiting for me

2nd verse
I’d been listening to the radio, on my drive
Heard a song about loving, and being alive
That was the song, I needed to hear
And as I listened, my eyes filled with tears

Chorus
The song in my heart, was playing on the radio
Whispering to me the things, I Wanted to know
you've been longing for me, to be with you at home
And the song in my heart was playing on the radio

3rd verse
I pulled into the driveway, and you met me there
I saw the love in your eyes, as I held you near
It's such joy to be alive, and home with you now
If there’s a way to be in love, this must be how

Chorus
The song in my heart, was playing on the radio
Whispering to me the things, I Wanted to know
you've been longing for me, to be with you at home
The song in my heart was playing on the radio

Bridge
When love is this true
what can I compare it to?
I don't know of a love more true
Than the love I'm feeling for you

Chorus

The song in my heart, was playing on the radio
Whispering to me the things, I Wanted to know
you've been longing for me, to be with you at home
And the song in my heart was playing on the radio

hi,

Love the lyrics. That is a great topic for a song, how many times do we feel that the radio is speaking to us when it plays a certain song.

Only suggestion that i have is that perhaps you could add 'that' at the start of the 3rd line of the chorus.

ajk....Derek....This is a really nice song in my opinion....lyrics are really good....for some reason I couldn't get it to play all the way through....I will try again....I think it may be on my end.....I really could hear this as a country song.....Bob

Thank you for the praise Robert I really need to get a noise cancelling mike I am using a cheap plastic Jensen mike at the moment. I was intending it as a country song good call. I'll check and make sure again that the whole song is on my click

Hi Derek,

Yes, I really like this melody too. It's so gentle and sweet that it weaves it's way right into my soul. Love it. And again, I love that bridge. You're gonna help the fine lyricists here make a believer in bridges out of me yet! smile

Thanks for the praise Vanessa yes the bridge is a hard part to make in a song I like the melody alright as well still think the music needs a little polishing but then it's all a learnin process right?

AJK, nice stuff going on in here. This song brought to mind Tricia Yearwood's "The song remembers when". Don't know if it would help or not, but you might listen and see if there are any builds on the way that snog is crafted and the imagery used. I'd just keep pushing this.
