Man Of Many Hats

Daddy was a man of many hats
For whatever the occasion might call
They're our treasured memories
Hanging in the hall
There's his favorite fishing hat
Where he hung it up last Fall
To hear him tell the story
He nearly caught them all
You know the tale grew tall
Daddy was a Man Of Many Hats

Daddy, was a man of many hats
The right one for whenever he went out
Each one of us can tell you
What they're all about
There's the broad-brimmed floppy hat
He wore when he had to plow
We use to ride the tractor
I'd love to ride it now
To see his sunny face
Now the plowing is hired out
Daddy was a Man Of many Hats

Bridge)
Blue hats and black hats
A cowboy hat with feathers
A baseball cap he'd throw on the ground
The one made out of leather
Daddy was A Man Of Many Hats

I smell his best cologne
The stuff he put on his hair
The hat he wore to church on Sunday
I think I'll leave it hanging there
The hat he brought home from the war
It's worn and torn to rags
Now it's time to take them down
To store in plastic bags
We'll keep them in a special place
We'll hold them near our hearts
Daddy was a Man Of Many Hats
