Unless you've heard otherwise Mark, I wonder if he would be upset. Maybe he was relieved, or (very likely) he was a team player that did what was best for the song. As you're aware, John played the solos on Paul's "Get Back" and George played most of the others, so I wonder if it ever was an issue.... Good point--it's hard to know...they've gotten along, they've fought, they've complimented each other, they've sniped at each other...beats me.
