Songsalive! and Just Plain Folks Monthly Music Showcase

The international songwriting organization, Songsalive! (www.songsalive.org), and the musician/music industry networking organization, Just Plain Folks (www.jpfolks.com), will hold a monthly music showcase at the Big Fish Pub in Tempe. The showcase, hosted by musician Mary Lemanski, will feature both local and touring artists performing original music in all genres. Doors will open at 8 PM. Show will begin at 8:30 PM. Cover is $3.00 for those 21 and up. Musicians and music industry professionals are invited to come early and network. The Big Fish Pub is located at 1954 W. University, just west of the Loop 101.

Brimstone Flowers (www.brimstoneflowers.com)

Brimstone Flowers consists of Vocalist/Guitarist David Glazier, Bassist Chad Macdonald, Guitarist/Vocalist Jon Prophet and Drummer Dave Cates. Brimstone Flowers has independently released a 2005 full album "Rapture". Ever evolving musically, Brimstone Flowers is excited to release an EP in the fall of 2005 to share all of their new inspiration. Brimstone Flowers has been featured as an opening act by Clear Channel and Cal Productions for international touring bands. They are actively involved in Charity Concerts, and local/international radio play. Don't miss their live show. Don Cross Project (www.dcpband.com)

DCP (Don Cross Project) has been playing together since 2000. DCP’s music is an eclectic mix of rock, folk, funk, jazz, metal, and country (every style except opera). The members include Don Cross, Susan Krebs, Steve Bunyard and Mary McChesney-Garcia. DCP have three full-length CDs recorded and released in local stores. They have played in many local clubs in town including the Paper Heart, Emerald Lounge, Acme Roadhouse, Sail Inn, The Last Exit, and Joe's Grotto. Don Cross, who plays percussion, guitar, bass, keys, and vocals, started playing 27 years ago with his first drum kit. Don writes 100% of the music and lyrics played by DCP. Susan Krebs, playing keys, bass and vocals, began playing the keyboard and bass approximately seven months ago. Steve Bunyard plays trumpet, guitar, bass, keyboard, harmonica, percussion, and vocals. Originally from Dallas, TX, Steve has been performing for 26 years. Mary McChesney-Garcia plays saxophone, keyboards, guitar, bass, and vocals. From Minnesota, Mary has also been playing music since childhood. Currently, when not playing with DCP, Mary can be found playing in the Army National Guard Reserve Band.

2-TONE from Denver Colorado is the future of hip hop. 2-TONE began his music career in 1999 doing street corner emcee battles but has always been around music since an early age. 2-TONE aka Michael "Soprano" Johnson had a father that has been managing pop acts since 1971. Being around his father inspired 2-TONE to pursue a rap career. 2-TONE also is owner of entertainment company called "Biltmore Boy Entertainment". 2-TONE owns his own clothing line titled "Cuvier International". He also has mixtapes out in the streets called "My Momma Biscuits" and "Breakfast @ Wimbeldon"

Born in the south side Chicago, this mcee has seen it all, and although the life of poverty has had a negative effect on him, he is not trying to turn it into a negative life. This is the reason his name is micadvancement because although he still gets in trouble, he learns and tries to change always. Now residing in Phoenix, AZ, he is getting his due as an artist, and he also has a cd on sale from his website, “Arizona All Stars Vol. 2,” repping the dopest Arizona artists out.

Mary Lemanski (www.marylemanski.com)

Mary Lemanski is an independent singer/songwriter/musician. After high school, Mary earned a degree in Music Business with a concentration in Musical Composition and an emphasis in piano and voice from Millikin University. In the summer of 1999, Mary completed studies in audio engineering at the Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences. During that summer, she interned at BMG Entertainment and Epitaph Records. Ms. Lemanski is an active participant in the independent music scene in Phoenix, Arizona, and she has opened for acts such as Marky Ramone & the Speed Kings, D.I., and Val Emmich. In addition to hosting the annual GoGirlsMusicFest (www.gogirlsmusicfest.com), she is also involved with the Phoenix chapter of Just Plain Folks (www.jpfolks.com) and Songsalive! (www.songsalive.org). In 2004, Mary placed runner-up in VH1's Song of the Year Contest, had a Top 10 Hit on Broadjam.com's New Wave charts, and several top 10 hits on Cornerband.com's Arizona local music charts. Mary is currently writing new music and recording tracks for a full-length CD.
