https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=13724150Portmeirion is a tourist village in Gwynedd, North Wales. It was designed and built by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis between 1925 and 1975 in the style of an Italian village, and is now owned by a charitable trust. In the mid 60s a TV drama was made here called The Prisoner. After initial poor reviews it went on to gain cult status and brought millions into the local economy. Thanks to MZ for his work on this including the vocal PORTMEIRION Verse Hitched a ride upon a cloud did'nt need a pair of wings just the warm summer sun sailing on a gentle wind Chorus saw a village in pastel shades floated down through the haze Portmeirion Portmeirion sea birds sang As they danced from wave to wave Verse Outside a small café I nursed a glass of wine Tall girl in a floppy hat asked me for the time Verse I SAID, it'S 8pm THEN Botanic clocks chimed SHE SAID, MUSTdash,Prisoners ON channel 6. at 9 B Heard a violin playing a familiar Portmeiron tune Then i drfted off to another dream don't the best dreams end to soon C Music outro
