1st Verse
Well here it is April 15th again Crops have fallen cause there aint’ been rain Still Uncle Sam wants me to pay my share It’s kinda hard to do when aint nothin’ there
2nd Verse Oh went to buy me 40 dollars of gas Man that ole jeep goes through it fast Bout’ 50 percent of it goes to tax Uncle Sam’s tryin’ to break my back
Chorus Oh thank the Lord there’s no taxes up in heaven, No 20 percent or 15 or even eleven God understands the common man Forgives his debt 70 times 7 Oh thank you Lord Aint no taxes in heaven
God don’t tax you for the work you done He won’t tax you just for having fun He aint anything like Uncle Sam That self-righteous bastard that don’t give a damn
Chorus Oh thank the Lord there’s no taxes up in heaven, No 20 percent or 15 or even eleven God understands the common man Forgives his debt 70 times 7 Oh thank you Lord Aint no taxes in heaven
Tag Think I’ll keep my change and give it to the reverend Oh thank you Lord…. Aint no taxes in Heaven
