here is one which Max chose another lyric of mine and him and Franco do some wicked pickin' on it. http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=12175771All I Know All i know is what i've been told All i've learned is what i know All i know is what i've been told All i've learned is what i know Don't take me for a fool, don't take me for a saint I is what i is and i aint what i aint Don't lead me on,don't follow too close Read my warnin' sign right there on the post, yea You can take it or leave it,it don't really matter Might be a lie but ya better believe it brother You can take a gamble, you can take a hike I'll bet you a benji,i got what you like I'm inside out and sideways down You can come in wether you're lost or found I rant and rave, speak in tounge with tourrettes You might understand me but no one has yet,no I sing and dance as i recite the gospel Load my gun with crosses then i get real hostile Shout from the mountain like a drunkard of beers But my words fall like feathers and nobody hears But i sleep real tight like a good boy should Wake up in the mornin' sportin' my wood Then i go downtown to see what's shakin' I buy a rabbits foot from the all mighty shaman i don't drive,i don't fly,i walk everywhere I like to take my time so that you can stare I may give you a wink or a smirky smile But i know that you think that i'm not your style Some see me inverted coz i'm not like them Some see perverted, say i should be condemned But if we all liked the very same thing We'd be bangin' your momma on the front porch swing,ho So if you're thinkin' 'bout being friends Welcome little fella well we just might blend Don't pry ,don't dig, don't interrogate We can learn how to live without all the hate Don't take me for a fool, don't take me for a saint I is what i is and i aint what i aint Don't take me for a fool, don't take me for a saint I is what i is and i aint what i aint All i know is what i've been told All i've learned is what i know All i know is what i've been told All i've learned is what i know........

Mike, Well. You really took us on a wild ride with this one. There's a lot of imaginative writing here. And its chock full of well-written lines. The phrasing is great. So's the picking. There's lots of big talk and sass in it. There's Jerry Lee Lewis and Chuck Berry DNA in the lyrics. With kind of a swampy feel to the music. This one should draw raves!

Hey Mike I’ll go a bit against what the others are saying. The guitar picking was good but the string noise was distracting. Though it leant a level of authenticity to the playing , it was just too over powering. You had a lot of lyrics but not sure where they lead to. No real chorus, nothing that lead back to your title of All I know. The song was a good listen, so don’t think I’m down with it, just thought (hoped) you wanted to hear the other side. But then again, if I knew what I was talking about, I’d be on a tour bus with lots of entertaining people.

Mike/Max/Franco,
I was entertained--like your raw genuine good ole boy singing style and loved the picking & the foot stomp'n! Eq-ing the guitars might back off a bit of the finger action--but I think it kind of belongs with this song--you guys call.
Yea, I'm not sure what you are really getting at--but isn't that part of the art here too? You sound like a male "edie brickle." Do you remember her song from the late 80's, "What I am is what I am, and what you are is me?" Check it out on youtube. Mike, you should love Edie Brickle's lyrics.
Fun stuff guys!
steady-eddie.

thank you Eddie, and how all the things come altogether - you remembered me about the concert of bob dylan here in Rome (aint this song just dylan-ish?), in june 89 and the guest (or opening, how do you say?) was just her, edie brickell, with this song (I think too is a wondeful song, I'll check lyrics). thanks eddie and iggy for the suggestions, maybe guitars too loud - I'll check with franco.

and, just to keep us talking about old uncle bob, I was laughing with Michael about how I tried to rewrite the melody of subterranean homesick blues in this one, and, when I went to Franco to record the backtrack, well, heck - he was just listening to a song of dylan (what was the name?) that had the foot stomp and the second guitar doing just messaround blues over stable fingerpicking. now dont say we've to pay some royalties to old uncle ;-) ... earned none LOL !

Hats off to you guys. Left me speechless... well not quite.
All I know... is the music and the vocals are absolutely, brilliant. The guitars were awesome and the vocals had that cocky Dylan vibe. Lyrics were chalked full of cool lines. Too many to mention but I think my fav was...
But if we all liked the very same thing We'd be bangin' your momma on the front porch swing,ho
Nuts!!!
