Sub, I would say it's on Sound Click's end which wouldn't surprise me at all. They are not as hi tech as they want you to think. Try Vimeo for your stuff if you tube doesn't do it for you.
Teacher is sick again today, so, discuss among yourselves...
Looks good. I'll probably stick with a regular linking for the following reasons:
1.) it is super easy 2.) I like how it automatically opens in a new tab/window (which helps with #3). 3.) If you navigate away from the 'embedded' playing page, the recording stops.
Nonetheless, it is cool that we can do this if we want to.

I agree with Kevin.
Although I will use the embed feature from time to time.
I have used it in the video section many times.
But, I do like people to visit my soundclick or video site, 'cause it gives them an opportunity to spot something else to listen to or watch.
But great work Linda.

'You Have To Kiss A Lot Of Frogs To Find A Prince'
And I like it for the opposite, I don't want people going to YOU TUBE or anywhere, like it at all for one almost guaranteed reason, they get distracted and go looking at everything else.
There eyes wander, and as the eyes go so do the ears.
Yep, I have to agree with Mike on that score, because this will help keep us "here" on these boards, getting listens and critiques done FASTER, and not distracted off like I get on "oh look a new Queen video got posted..." then I'm off listening to interviews... then ... oh never mind, what was I doing?? why am I online? LOL
I can copy and paste the code under the "Share" option but if I paste it to JPF it is just a bunch of code- it doesn't translate to a playable video on JPF. What needs to be done?

But Roy you have a point too!!
Linda, you would make a great diplomat lol.
Its because my video link only has my videos on it as does my soundclick.
But Mikes point is very valued.
Too be or not, that is the question.

'You Have To Kiss A Lot Of Frogs To Find A Prince'
OK, so Kurt & Samuel, you found your CODE, that's big, pat yourselves on the back!
JPF CHECKLIST: [size:14pt]Make a NEW POST - or use QUOTE or REPLY to paste your CODE into the full Edit Window as shown below.
but NOT "Quick Quote" or "Quick Reply" -- these will Fail.
FIND THIS BOX under your text box labeled "Markup:"
FIRST QUESTION: CAN YOU SEE THIS BOX?
SECOND QUESTION: in YOUR "Markup" BOX, do you NOT SEE the "HTML" option??
Several are reporting in that they do NOT HAVE it. Is this the problem??
IF this is the problem =
You just need a friend (like me!) to QUOTE your CODE for you, bring it down, CHECK THEIR HTML MARKUP BOX (as above) - delete the [ quote= ] and [/ quote ] parts, and If the CODE IS THERE... your player WILL then show up.
PM me with your LINK where you have dropped code & have a problem and I will be happy to drop it down for you and make it work. Also find friends who are successfully finding their HTML Markup box and anyone learning this *should* be happy to oblige those of you who do NOT have the option in your browser or operating system or whatever it is that is not showing up for some of you.
OK? We're all in this together! Those that have the Markup HTML option - please help those that don't. Those that don't -- just drop your code in your post and ask for the fix! OK? OK!!
If your problem is you didn't SEE the box but you DO have the "Markup" - "Using HTML" button... just try a few more X to learn where it is .... and it won't show up under "EDIT" I figured out... so you have to use QUOTE to pull it down.
I can copy and paste the code under the "Share" option but if I paste it to JPF it is just a bunch of code- it doesn't translate to a playable video on JPF. What needs to be done?
EXAMPLE: Samuel, here is your YouTube CODE: I did not re-set the Markup for HTML... so it looks like junk.
I can copy and paste the code under the "Share" option but if I paste it to JPF it is just a bunch of code- it doesn't translate to a playable video on JPF. What needs to be done?
NOW I will drop your post as a QUOTE (NOT "quick quote!") ... delete the quotation b/c that just puts your vid in a funny scrolling box... and Change my Markup setting to "Using HTML and UBB code" and here you have it:
DO you SEE the above options in your drop-down Markup box in the FULL EDIT WINDOW?
If THESE are the only options you see - - you can't do it yourself.
But you CAN still paste in your CODE and get a FRIEND TO HELP... if you drop the code... someone WITH the right options can convert it for you!! All-righty?
.... only options using ubb code without ubb code /html
and the player shows in preview
but not on the post page -- just code
Good answer Joice --- JAN --
are you using the same system by any chance?
If so is there any way your machine will upgrade to Lion or any desire for you to do that? OR, perhaps update/upgrade Safari to the newest version or try other browsers at the newest versions, and see if new options come up for you?
I am on Mac Lion with no issues.
Since Jan is international, but Joice is in the US, it can't be an "international" board issue. My best intuitive guess is an older browser or OS issue.... most likely.

Kevin
Ah!! Good catch Kevin, and good point. It's still BEST to include a REGULAR LINK always.... esp if your player has a Fail. OR, for those on Dial-up or have other issues with getting these things to load properly even when on YOUR end you did it all correctly.
....and if you're up to putting in the player for those who want to use it, if you have the time & inclination to do so ... then that's nice...
for myself, I have not had the 'navigate away and recording stops' issue with SingSnap or YouTube ... but DO have that issue on mobile browsing via Android.
If I CLOSE the window or tab, it stops, YEAH... lol.... hahaha but just switching tabs or windows, it works fine for me in most cases.

Ok I think I found the answer :-) It is all about forum permissions wich the administrator of the forum can give via his controll panel in the forum. You see I am testing out a demo UBB Forum
and now I can post videos , widgets ...... to my hearts content :-) as a normal user and as Admin of the forum :-) Check it out in the test forum . the demo expires within 48 hours . All the best Jan

I suspect perhaps Moderators have more power than non moderators which might affect what you can and can't do. Sorry.. but Linda is the real expert on this... no one else tried doing it before. We will have many new abilities in the next upgrade of the boards which I hope to do before the end of the year. Hopefully we'll have enough in the JPF accounts left before the end of the year.

Nevermind!
This explains it. I don't see those middle two options at all! Explains why it doesn't work at all.
We're discovering that many don't see that option. I am not sure (see Brian's post above) if I have it since I am a Moderator on a couple forums -- but in any case -- I can do it.
So, if I'm not overflooded with requests, and I'm here, send me your link by PM with the code stuff pasted in, and I'll pull it down for you and work the magic.
