Hey Niteshift - the prize remains what's it's always been, long term promotion on the awards page and yearly announcments. The Yearly Awards program is part of the membership package on the site... thanks!
Not $25k then ? Oh, damn, cos that's what I need for my next project. How about a sponsership ? Oh well, moving along........

cheers, niteshift

Ah geez Derek, ya can't blame a guy for trying ! I need "yearly promotion" like I need a hole in the head. Of course, I've already paid for it with my " membership package "...............

Back to the songwriting....

Kweevak,

I am pretty surprised when you were asked a direct question why you didn't just answer with the info? He asked what the prize was, which you answered, but not what the fee was. We are used to an endless run of scam artists and idiot contests coming through here and trolling for dollars. Folks here don't know your history or how long you've been doing it and so without much info, you're just another troll.

Try simply posting the info pertinent, including any fees, right up front with your contest and I am sure folks will give you due respect. Otherwise, it's impossible to distinguish you from all the other folks.

If what you are offering is a significantly worthwhile opportunity as you suggest, then explain it and give folks the info they'd need to make a decision. Simply getting into a pissing match and slamming the door yourself is hardly a good way to let folks know about you and what you do.

Brian
Really, if you knew how many of these "opportunities" have scammed poor musicians like many of us, you would fully understand and sympathize with our skepticism, and you would be more professional in your response. But seeing your immediate peeved response tells me you're probably just another moneymaker on the take.

This is a pretty big songwriting community here, so if you really are for real, this would be an excellent opportunity for you to prove me wrong.
sorry
I do not give my music away. I expect to be paid royalties.
Do you make a living from this or do you do it for free?
I cannot support any organization that does not respect a musicians right to be paid for their work.

This from the Kweevak site.

RADIO AIRPLAY RELEASE: "I/we the undersigned hereby to grant permission to Kweevak.com radio productions and "The Kweevak Radio Show" to air the Artist's copyrighted material royalty free in return for radio, web, satellite, and podcast airplay promotion. I understand that sending in this release is NOT a guarantee that my/our music will receive airplay.
This guy has been pushing Kweevak for the best part of two years on these boards. Check his posts. Has any of our members had any dealings with him. Give us feedback. If the RLB (wonder what it stands for) has not had any success from free advertising on our forum then he is a very patient RLB. I did check out his site, first impression it looks dodgy and typical of the type of thing we tell members to avoid, expecting folk to pay money up front for vague promises and a completely one sided contract.
