Actually, I think guitar players should play more like a bass LOL. He uses both guitar and bass technique in this piece, he's playing a six-string bass guitar (which is what a fretted electric bass is properly called...a bass guitar). The 6-string bass is not usually tuned like a guitar, which is tuned in fourths with a major third between the 3rd and 2nd strings, the bass is usually tuned all in fourths. Yes, he is amazing, very musical guy.
