The goal of our "Song Challenges" is to write songs/lyrics on demand within set parameters. We don't critique each other's songs in this thread (but you can say you like someone's song if you want to.) Please post your original works. If you have already written a song/lyric that fits within the parameters, please feel free to post it.
It's October. Halloween is coming. Time for scary songs. It can be funny, sad, nostalgic, anything you want but it needs to have a scary theme. It doesn't have to be about Halloween. Even politics is pretty scary. Have fun!

okay I've posted this lyric before but maybe someone will put creepy music and a vocal to it.. [color:#000000] "The Blob"[/color] (c)2010 Lynn OrloffThere was a man of science Who had a found a substance rare So he kept it in his freezer Thinking no one find it there But it seems a family member Who was looking for some food Came across the unmarked package Took it out and left the room As it sat out on the counter, seems it started to defrost Who would guess this curious finding would cause havoc and great loss It was ewy, it was gooey And it's name became “The Blob” Finding victims to devour Sadly seemed to be it’s jobThough it started as a small thing Over time it grew in size As the news spread through the county Townsfolk feared their own demise Neighbors gathered feeling helpless Searching for the perfect plan Accidentally they discovered They could save their fellow man Armed with all their hands could carry, shooting well with Co2 Taking aim to freeze the monster, was the one thing left to do It was ewy, it was gooey And it's name became "The Blob” Finding victims to devour Sadly seemed it’s only jobNow it’s frozen, rendered harmless If it stays in frozen form But it could present a problem If it ever gets too warm It was ewy, it was gooey Though it isn't anymore But be careful for surprises One could show up at your door!!!

~~~HAppYHALLOWeeN~~~
http://www.soundclick.com/bands/0/calvinstewartDanny © words and music by C. Stewart (Sept. 27, 2012)
Slimy eyeballs Bloody teeth His right leg made from a two by four
Coat pockets full Of human remains Shoulda been enough but he wanted more
CHORUS... His name wasn't Igor or something wierd But he had a sharp knife and a killer beard He liked to dismember, will you remember, Danny
Hard to forget What he's done Mutilated bodies on cockroach floors
Is he lurking In the bushes Waiting for you to open the door
CHORUS... His name wasn't Igor or something wierd But he had a sharp knife and a killer beard He liked to dismember, will you remember, Danny
Bout an hour old. I'll,probably tweak a little if Ms Jean allows tweaking May I tweak. Ms Jean?? DevilDog Or Banshee Cold rain on the windowpane, So the face outside is blurred But it looks like a Devil Dog From some evil world The howl is like a Banshee Sends shivers through your bones Like a tortured soul in Hell You wish you weren't alone C DevilDog or Banshee Vampire or ancient curse Here to drink your blood Been long since it has fed It means to drain you dry While it chews off your head There's a clawing at the door And a hairy paw cones through Dripping fangs and two red eyes Stareing straight at you C DevilDog or Banshee Vampire or ancient curse Here to drink your blood Been long since it has fed It means to drain you dry While it chews off your head Outro Then it's over, you awake You've still got your head But there's clawmarks on your arms And blood upon the bed
Hey Jean, Thought I'd toss in this old creepy one from me and Joe Wrabek. If I have a chance to do a new one, I will. Thanks for keeping these Song Challenges going.... http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=7567540The Well In The GladeLyrics Beth G. Williams/Music & Vocal Joe Wrabek The Well in the Glade is patient Though unknown, to those left behind Legions of children of children Of the first who alas made the find They were hunters out tracking a deer Hallow's Eve, when one saw the tail It led them deep into the forest To a glade at the end of the trail CHORUS: So let me tell About The Well They thought it was for wishing They tossed in change Then something strange Happened They started slipping Down, they fell Bound straight for hell The water started hissing Then splash of pail A gurgled wail That's how those two went missing` Last night two boys cut thru the forest They got lost and a little afraid Was the night before Halloween They cheered up when they came to the glade CHORUS: So let me tell About The Well They thought it was for wishing They tossed in change Then something strange Happened They started slipping Down, they fell Bound straight for hell The water started hissing Then splash of pail A gurgled wail That's how THOSE two went missing` Now if you come across a well In the middle of a glade Don't toss one penny down its throat You'll be wishing your life away....
Hey Jean, Just to let folks know, that if you're writing spooky stuff as a composer at the moment, you may want to check out the Tropfest composers video comp at http://tropfest.com/au/apra-tropscore/Free entry as many times as you like. Prize - $5000, your score played at Tropfest all over the world ( and broadcast ) and if invited, you may be asked to play live to vision at the Tropfest awards. Just watch the video. It's spooky ! Even as an exercise, it's got a killer ending. Whooooooohaaaaaooooooo...... cheers, niteshift PS - sorry Jean, a little off topic, but worth mentioning if you're going to do this stuff, even for exercise.
Thank you Wy for warm welcome and thank you Jean for listening and commenting It is inspiring to create spooky songs/instrumentals for Halloween but I have one which is gentle and kind. Not sure if it's okay to post the link here as it's about scary songs but here goes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2eHS0QTuoyo&feature=plcpHalloween Time. My little fairy tale about a nice little witch who feels sad that in Halloween time it is expected to be nasty but she just can't and doesn't really want to...
