http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/song_13751093Hello friends, here's a new song by JPF-ers: Leblanc lyrics, MaxG music, Garner vocals and my friend Franco Pietropaoli at harp and mixing it all. the making took a while, and now I'm very curious to know from you... Rockabye baby rockabye baby sweet lullaby stardust and angel kisses fall from the sky rockabye baby sweet lullaby sleep tight and all your wishes wake before your eyes dream a dream of fairytale land hush little baby don't wake the lamb wave at the butterflies dancing on a cloud hush little baby it's sleepy time now rockabye baby sweet lullaby

Hi Folk, I've never written a lullaby but I think you all have done a nice job here. It's great to see another JFP collab too! Dottie

Hi Michael. I like the swing to it but there seems to be too much going on instrument wise that's clashing with the vocal. Drums, bass and vocal sound good but not sure whether the fiddle and guitar are playing the same melody. Maybe that's what you want but to my ears it sounds a little muddled. Please don't hate me. Anyway, It's just my opinion. Maybe I'm wrong. Vic

hey Vic,i appreciate your take on this.I do think the harmonica can be lowered a bit and off the fiddle but not sure what you hear with the guitar and fiddle.I'll ask Max about this but he'll read this post i'm sure.I think it has a swampy cajun feel to it.It always takes me a few days of dissecting a song for me that i have any collab on to give a honest critique on it.And don't worry,i don't be hatin'!LOL.I appreciate your feedback!Thanx,Mike

Guys it took me a few bars to tune into how this tune works, but when I did boy was I in for a treat. Garner vocal sounds so rich and warm and seems to belong with a double bass.
One of the best non pro tracks that I've heard for a long time.
Great job guys and please post some more with this line up as I think it's winning formula.
Andy

The vocals and the harmonies are indeed warm and rich.
I love all the instruments mixed in.
Some fine playing and mixing.
Well done to all involved.

Hi Max and all. Having taken another listen to this and conquered my fears, I have come to the conclusion that it really only sounds off at the start when the singer sings the first line. Either the vocal is a little flat or one of the instruments is playing an incorrect note. Vic

;-) so now you can enjoy fully the voice of miss garner ... but Vic, listen - you're right about the instruments: the backtrack is programmed with band in a box (the only live instrument is the harp played by franco that couldnt be automatic in any way cause it answers the vocals). BIAB is wonderful and magic in many ways but doesnt let you control the single notes played by instruments (and this means there could be wrong notes - on the other hand, if you choose only few instruments to play, this risk is reduced but you feel the harmony is often empty, so it's difficult!). This is the real challenge using this tool, but this time I'm quite satisfied by the result LOL

Very nice, the lyric is lovely and the melody is very original, I really like it. I do like the singers voice, but there are a few spots where she goes off, especially on low notes. I really do like this song, nice collab!

Hiya Max: Very cool It took me a little into it as well to figure it out. After a second listen, I DO think something isn't quite working on the very first vocal line. But it's cool and it's different. That was done with BIAB, huh? The bass and brushes sound great - I may have to break down and try it. Scott

I love these surprises that MaxG has for Michael! They never disappoint! Really nice one all the way around! One neat thing about this is that you could sing it and play it for your infant, and as the child grows, he'd continue to enjoy it because it really is ageless -- something appealing for everyone!
