I saw Michael's lyric on the lyric board and it was so beautifully dark, I just had to sing it! He was so kind to allow me to do a version of his song. I really like the melody that came to me, it seemed to fit the lyric and I chorded it and begged for a musician! I'm still not good enough on the guitar and you were all saved from it!! Great thanks to Colin Ward for offering his wonderful talents on this to give us a music track and for also mixing it!! If you like dark and depressing, than this is what you want to listen to!! LOL!! COLD DARK WORLD on SoundClick Cold Dark World by Michael LeBlanc Well the blues began to rain Rain all over me The sadness soaks my soul Makes me lonely as I can be And it's a cold dark world Without you by my side The wind blows a sorrowful dirge As my broken heart slowly dies Well the storm clouds still hover Sunshine's so far away Reminds me our love is over Still I call out your name And it's a cold dark world Without you by my side The wind blows a sorrowful dirge As my broken heart slowly dies And it's a cold dark world Such a cold dark world A cold dark world That i'm livin' in

Love the wail and the plea in this one. Strong bruising blues. very nicely done as always to both lyricist and vocalist with her own melody applied. ~~~~MFB III

Hi Michael and Tammy, (nice to meet you both!) This is as dark as darkest Hank Williams Sr., and it works lyrically cuz you keep it simple and free of "too-clever" lines that would make us think the singer's fakin' it. Tammy, you've got a nice kinda Natalie Merchant vibe going on here. Lots of bending into and out of notes. It's a sticky, summer sound that I find quite enjoyable. Nice harmonies, too, and some chord changes you don't hear too often. Nice work, you two! Mike PS...Colin...very nice mix that let's the vocal breathe; I'm not sure what music you added, but I enjoyed it all.

Tammy is just getting better and better as a writer/player and singer. Nice one guys love it. Michael you wrote a beauty.

Tammy, Michael, and Colin, Wonderful collaboration! It is beautifully written and Tammy's haunting vocals and melody are perfect for it. Colin has done a great instrumental for this as well. Nice job! It was very enjoyable.

Man, that's nice, Tammy. I wondered if you could sing a sad one and it turns out you can. Might even be your strong suit Is that you doing the harmonies too? They are on the money! Nice write, Michael and great backing track, Colin. Yeah, the power of the internet! Scott

Tammy, Scott beat me to the harmonies question, but I'll bet it's you doing the low harmony. It fits the mood of the song. Good job also on the lyrics Michael, and Colin's production sounds fresh and crisp.

I didn't have a problem with the meter of this. I think the beat is a little too straight forward and needs that sloppy snare to make it drag less or feel like it's dragging less.
Love the under harmony--needs to come up a tad in the mix so it's equal to yours because this type of song demands it.
Has a Stones' Wild Horses feel which I dig.
Really nice Tam.
