Hi guys, I used to have switch sound converter which I liked, but now it says to switch a certain file it must be purchased. I just need to change a file that is too big as an mp3 for sougu. Any suggestions for a free one that is safe?
and user friendly?

If you are just changing a file to a certain sized mp3, you can do it in Audacity very easily. Just load up the best quality file you have (WAV or large mp3), and then export it as an mp3. When you get to the export screen, select mp3 and then select options and you can choose the quality of mp3 you want. You can actually export it multiple times with different file names, each of which is a different mp3 quality.
320 is the best mp3, 128 is still pretty good, less than 128 starts to sound worse. The smaller the number, the smaller the overall size of the mp3 file. Try different quality settings until the file is the size you want.

Hi Kim hope all is well...there are lots of freebies on the market. Try http://www.any-audio-converter.com/any-audio-converter.phpOR Fox tab http://apps.foxtab.com/mp3converter/is free and it works fine BUT do not tick any of the pesky add on things they want you to download....you may have to install a free babylon toolbar as part of the download but you can blow that away after if you do not want to use it.
