@Joe YEP that's right! either today or sometime next week. hehe.
@Colin - great song! I like the vibe - and cool to hear Geoff in the mix too. You and Jayne make a great duet pair vocally - your blend is very cool and great harmonies! Nice hook here too.
It DOES move fast - I thought it might -- if folks took to it! ....which is why I asked ahead for making multi-replies in one post {{like this!}} ... and that it's not required of each of you to listen to EVERY song. I'm listening to each one - but I'm the Hostess! If we get up to 50+ songs a week or more posting in - I may ask for help LOL so everyone gets at least a listen - but so far we're running pretty cool!!
OPEN MIC FREEBIE WEEKEND UNTIL MIDNIGHT TONIGHT {{Sunday}}!!

If you can't see the graphic - this week's Challenge is: FEED ME. Songs mentioning or about a food, eating, hungry, or full.
um.... hopefully I don't have to add this but, "keep it clean, folks!" there are some rap songs etc out there that go places that I don't really want this challenge to get into ... family-friendly songs please!
That said however, bands like "Fine Young Cannibals" and songs like Hall & Oates' "Maneater" will be just fine.... LOL

This week is going to be a tricky one since I'm not a Gold member on SingSnap so a lot of the good food songs aren't free lol Hmmmm...... I have a French one in mind, so we'll see.
Looking forward to hearing your song for this week Glynda

P.S. Soundclick is having "issues" today, so it might be a while before you can listen. I could say "It's worth the wait"--but I'll let that be your decision.
Ok, now, ya'll I have this song that would love to have really put to music, etc...but this has a lot of food stuff in it and this is the first time I really did any kind of guitar work with my songs, so please bare with me...tks...
TIPS: TURN YOUR VOLUME WAYYY DOWN AND I SOUND BETTER
And I am working on a better Melody I'd like and of course better music....this is just a work in progress....
If anyone wants to do a co-write with me and do this song for real, I'm all for it...this is just me doing a lil' strumming all the way thru it just to give it some back ground noise....hope it don't kill ya too much...glyn

Glyn, Hey I remember when country wasn't cool LOL!
My mom and gramma would be playin' and singin' along with "Okie from Mestogie",so I had to put on "Hippi from Arlema" and sing a little louder.
Today I love that music, but those days were mostly classic rock for me!
I love your version of Barbera, Also awesome when I heard you do your own song!!
Mojo, I remember back when I was a bubble gummer and had to go buy a 45 record when that came out, guess I musta been about 12 years old. You really sounded great!
Joe, Take out food.........what a great song, Stan was quite the wordsmith here, and you really set it off!! The sound you put to it is awesome. I love this song!
Here's my first "Food" song... I looked for Dusty Springfield's version, since it's a bit shorter, but the Van Morrison version was all I can find, so it's a bit long... but I really love this song, so here it is!

@JenWarner VERY soulful, I loved how you sang that song! I've never heard that song before (I might've heard the Dusty Springfield version at some point because my parents almost always had the local oldies radio station on in the car and at home when I was growing up) but I really enjoyed it! You really pulled it off.
@LindaAdams Psychedelic man, whoooooooa.... Awesome take on a classic song.
Yay 80s!!! I couldn't find this one on Singsnap or any other karaoke site so I downloaded a karaoke track separately and sang it into my usual mixer program that I use for recording my own music. I did that for my second song as well.
There were no backing vocals on the karaoke track I found so I did them myself purely for fun. It was a lot of fun stretching my voice into the higher registers, higher than I'm used to singing!!
Wooo-Hoooo you all are sounding GREAT!!!!! Thank you all for the sweet comments on "Tupelo Honey"!!
@ Colin--- That Cappuccino tune is MIGHTY FINE!!! I had to listen twice... yes, lots of food in there, but that Hook is absolutely unforgettable!! And the video is BEAUTIFUL, too!!! Loved it!
@ Geneva-- I ALWAYS knew that one would sound great with a female vocalist, but to date, I had never heard it done by a woman! You did a MARVELOUS job!!! Really sounded great!
@ Glyn-- I'd never heard that Milk Cow Blues... but you do the blues GREAT!!! I really loved it, and was glad to get to hear it! Just SUPER!
@ Ann-- Hahaha.. I wanted to do Hungry Like The Wolves, too... but you are right, Singsnap doesn't have it! You did an AWESOME job on it!!
@ Ann-- Cornflake Girl... I'd never heard, but absolutely loved it, and the way you sang it sounded soooo GOOD!!!! Your voice is perfect for that style!! WTG!!!

Working from cell phone. Home internet is down - I can see you!! But streaming media AND typing are a pain right now till ATT gets fixed - it's a wide area out, urgh!!
My hands/thumbs are actually sore from trying to be online & typing today on this thumb pad - I gotta quit.
ANYWAY, let's keep it to two songs apiece this week until we all get feeling more caught up. Come Wednesday/Thurs I'll have a better feel for how swamped or not we are here and see about letting in a third song then, like last week. Sound good?? Thanks!!
@Jen:...yep really like your hair worn down...and what a great job on Drop of Jupiter....loving it, still listening...oh and i'm NOT into women, just so ya'll will know in case you ever wondered....love the men type....lol...oh how funny I am....but you really did a great job on this...
Whoo- hoo, even my Android phone with Dolphin browser has the HTML markup option!! Anyone having trouble with their players, also have this phone option?? Just curious :-D
Hooboy. Lot to keep track of here. I am nowhere near finished.
LOL! That's why I've said there's no need to listen to everything posted! Just do what you can is all and we'll all try I'm sure to make sure no one is feeling or being overlooked in the shuffle.
Thx for the compliments on mine.... I think it still need some work if I were to take it outside the house anywhere, haha, but thanks. And I have a request out from John Voorpostel from maybe a year ago for White Rabbit ... Still working... It'll turn up sometime... After I've learned it backwards and forwards (winks @Jen, inside joke).
LOL carry on! I will listen when I get to a better streaming connection. Frustrating!!
Jen, "Drop OF Juniper" I love that song and your version was incredible and I loved the video, you just looked incredible performin' too!
Glyn, Gosh I thought I'd heard 'em all but "Milk Cow Blues" is new to me. I love that southern country sound you have, but Lordy, you're a blues woman too! That was just awesome!
Ann, My daughter's been a Tori Amos fan since she was a teenager, now my teenage grand daughter follows in her footsteps. If they heard this they'd be some of your biggest fans!
"Hungry Like A Wolf" I haven't heard that in years, and you put out an incredible version!
I love seein' everyone havin' so much fun at this!
Okay here's Food Song Nummer Two. Wrote this for 45 Degrees North's performance at the Manzanita Farmer's Market this summer; it was suggested that since 'twas a Farmer's Market, we should do something about vegetables. That means Joe needs to write something about vegetables because that's what I do. And since we had a fiddle player who was into Celtic music, it was kinda Irish so she'd like it.
Joe, now that's alot to memorize, and such a fittin' song!
I almost caught one of your perfomances for a food drive in Garibaldi a summer or so back, goin' fishin' and I brought those cans of food with us, but we took others who help pay on the diesel and the bite was late, so we stayed out on the ocean too long.
I spend a lot of time at the coast durin' the summer, I expect I'll see you perform one of these days! Great song!
