M!!
Well, just to clarify with you my friend, I co-wrote the lyric, but Danny did most of the writing, he is very talented, I did the chording and melody and yes...I originally played this on the autoharp, but Ian blows that out of the water!!! Sorry if I confused you!! Always happy to have you visit and listen!!

Hi Tammy, Danny and Ian This is very pretty! I don't have time to read all the comments so I may be repeating things, sorry if I am. Had I just listened I probably wouldn't have noticed the little things that I saw while reading along. There's never been a moment or another place in time That could ever match the feeling of you here by my side. There's never been a breath that I would ever want to hold (Than) swimming deep into your depths to quench my lonely soul Than feels out of place here without more in front of it and I'm not sure I get this line. Perhaps I'm swimming deep etc.(chorus) With your warm breath upon my skin I feel your fire s that burn s within I look into your eyes and see There's never been a love like you for me There has never been a kiss placed so softly on my face That traced a path to my lips for our mouths to embrace There's never been a burning need or strong desire That burns with such abandon to set my soul on fire (chorus) With your warm breath upon my skin I feel your fires that burn within I look into your eyes and see There's never been a love like you for me (Bridge) There will always be a dawn, you will always turn me on Thoughts of you are on my mind Thoughts of you and me that last throughout eternity And spending it one moment at a time (chorus) With your warm breath upon my skin I feel your fires that burn within I look into your eyes and see There's never been a love like you for me oh, a love like you for me That's all I have, it's beautiful music with a lovely voice and a well written lyric. One day I'm going to write a love song! Dottie

Hey Andy,
Thanks for listening and commenting. I don't get the opportunity to hear the lyrics that I have written or played a part in writing put to music very often and it makes me feel good to hear that talented folks such as yourself enjoy them.
Again thanks for listening and I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Nat,
The idea of using wrong as a rhyme for dawn never crossed my mind seeing as wrong has an inherent negative connotation and I was looking for things that would encompass what lovers would say when together or apart, hence the lonely soul in the last line of the first verse.
I'm not trying to be contrary or dismissive of your input. That is just the way I wrote it and I like it.
Not many offerings by amatures and hobbyists are perfect on the first go 'round and as Tammy has mentioned, we had one shot with and took it.
Thanks for your thoughts and impressions. You do have some good thoughts here. I do hope you enjoyed the song.

Hey Kim,
Total enjoyment is a good thing! Thank you very much. Funny you would say anything about shortening it. I don't recall that ever being mentioned by anyone. I must've missed it.

Hey Tammy
You had a lot of nice comments, so I hope this is not redundant. Everything was going good for me and I liked the essence and tenor of the song until I got to this verse:
"There will always be a dawn, you will always turn me on"
For me, it had a cheapening or superficial effect on your otherwise very elegant - almost spiritual love song. I am certain you did not want that to happen and wondered if other options could be explored (eg., instead of "You will always turn me on", maybe, "for me to share in your arms", or something like that.
Doug.

Hi Roger, I'm glad you found it and even more so that you liked what you heard. Tammy is a wonderful singer and makes the lyric come alive with her soulful delivery of the vocal and the melody she came up with for the lyric. I have said this before and will probably say it again; I am very proud to have done my part in the creation of this song.
Thank you very much for generous words.

Hi Dottie!
There's never been a breath that I would ever want to hold (Than) swimming deep into your depths to quench my lonely soul
This is actually one line and if you read it as a sentence it makes perfect sense (to me).
Glad you liked it Dottie and I'd love to hear your love song when you write it!
Thanks for stopping in,

Doug,
Thank you for all the kind words. The "you will always turn me on" part was not intended as sexual but sensual and as I mentioned in a previous reply, It builds on the chorus nicely, in my opinion. We will probably not get the chance to redo the song, so I'll take that bit into consideration on the next go around.
Thanks again,
Danny

I found the line "you will always turn me on" was fine in this song. I thought it was sensual and not offensive at all in this. Even if this song is ever re-done, I hope the line remains.

Doug,
I have had a few comments on that line and I think that it means something different to each person. Some are shocked and feel it is a bit base. Some feel it isn't intimate. I personally feel that if you are that much in love and passionate with someone and they said this to you and only you, it would be a very sensual thing, which is a great lead in to the chorus. it is just my opinion and I understand yours and have gotten that comment, but I'm on the fence on that one.
I really appreciate you listening and am so happy that you enjoyed the song!

Well the part I like the best is the vocals. But the song doesn't have enough going for it to showcase the vocalist. I want to hear this voice put to the test... I mean really push to the limit, one of the best budding vocalists around these parts. Dang, that would be cool. Nice song, by the way. But I like the vocals best.

Hi Tammy & Danny ...Nice to meet you and if I've said hi 'ways back ..and have forgotten, excuse please... Very lovely vocals!...really nice! ... Nice Melody... and lyrics convey lovely emotion.... Maybe...dig a wee bit deeper lyrically y'all..... a few thoughts. I LOVE the thought the next two lines convey... There's never been a breath that I would ever want to hold Than swimming deep into your depths to quench my lonely soul (But I did read the comments this time..I don't always..)...and see what's being said about the Than... It would probably mess the meter up..but...how bout... There's never been a breath that I would ever want to hold.... Swimming deep into your depths I quench my lonely soul... I'm not sure the than worked in that spot... only other thought was....(and this is Nit pickin and personal preference) mebbe word replacement on one of the burns...or fire there's ...burn burning fire warmth in the Verse...and then followed up by warm fire burn in the chorus... Very nice you two... Enjoyed!!!! best wishes, Kaley

Kevin Miller,
I'm very happy that you liked the song and do agree with you that the vocals on it are what makes the song come alive! We thank you for your comments. It would be nice to have a more full production but sometimes you have to take what you can get and that is what we did.
Thanks Kevin,
Danny

Hi Kaley,
First, I would like to thank you for listening and giving your thoughtful feedback.
I had stated in a previous response concerning the use of the word than in "Than swimming deep into your depths...". Maybe the line should not have been capitalized since it is not a separate line but the continuation of a thought process which happens to break at the spot where it appears to be grammatically incorrect to start a line with the word "Than". I never picked up on it since it is actually a one line thought.
The line you used as a suggestion is a good line and would work.
As far as the wording goes, I chose the words to convey the message of heat without being too repetitive, using slight variations as to not be stale.
Thanks again Kaley,
Danny
I don't want to sound obstinant or insolent. The wording was thought out before using it.

Tom,
I'm not sure I could speed up the vocal on this personally it seems to intimate to rush....I mean, when you feel good, you want to swim in it...LOL!! But I am sure there are a thoughsand ways to do this song, mine will always be the over-emotional take!! LOL!!
Thanks for listening!

Reminds me of some of the songs Carole King did way back when; I think I have an lp around here of "Tapestry" well done. Take care, Kyrk

Pretty song! ...you will always turn me on You may want to end the first line of your bridge in a different way; IMO, this phrase is cliche'/outdated.

Shayne,
I'm glad you liked the song and Tammy does do a wonderful job singing, which makes it pretty IMO.
I wrote a good deal of the lyric, including the bridge. I appreciate your taking the time to offer your take on things but I can't imagine that telling someone "you will always turn me on" could ever be outdated. It could perhaps be cliche'; however, the context it is used in is far from cliche'(IMO). I find myself trying to defend and explain the line but to no avail.
In no way am I taking offense to the comment since there are a few people who have remarked on the same thing for different reasons. I do stand by the use of the phrase and its meaning, which was intended as intimately sensual.
Thanks for expressing your thoughts and impressions of the song.

Al (and Di),
It is pleasing that so many people have enjoyed the fruits of our labors. The writing that I did was the easy part. Tammy did all of the hard stuff like getting the music, chording, learning, and singing the song. She is the one that really made it happen! Thank you for taking the time to listen and give your thoughts.
Thanks again Al & Di,

Wow guys this is a wonderful piece of work. The passionate piano play, works perfectly with Tammy's vocals. It's a beautiful lyric and arrangement.
As for the Elton John comparison I can hear it also. I think it would be more prevalent with some vocal rhythm variation as Mike mentioned. Tammy you sure didn't disappoint, this is one hell of song and one hell of a team, you have there.
PS. Your vocals and Ian's piano playing work so well together.
