Some drift in and drift out. I've noticed a few missing for a while too. I guess they just get busy.

Yeah I guessed that too. It is that you get use to regulars even if it takes awhile to say, :Hey! Where is so and so?"

Sorry Doug:
I've often wondered what became of Polly. She kept this site in stitches with her wit and liveliness. I think Bixby was in the military overseas but remember (I believe) his posts after his return.
Others often missed: Bobbie Gallup; Kaley Willow; Beth Williams; Al David; Bill Osofsky and Hummingbird.

Polly is still quite active on Facebook. There is a JPF presence on FB and also Linda Adams started a group for musicians and actors and Polly is very active in that group.

Sofa King Bixby Polly Hager
Hi!! Yes, Steve Bixby and Polly Hager are both active on Facebook. You can find them there. I do have the little group on FB, but it's much better to bring folks out here to interact. Mine is a motley little collection of local musicians & actors and folks from JPF plus other websites that I'm just trying to get all in one place for chit-chat. This board is much more organized and useful!!

I don't know Andy Dinnell, but can't find him on FB search.... THIS is a Ronald Boyte (the only one on FB) with 18 friends, but as I don't know him, I don't know if this is the right one or photo: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001749806257

Hi Doug..and y'all... I am not sure about Ron Boyte...He was here a long time ago.... Do not know what he is doing. Bill Osofsky..I heard was enjoying cooking!...Vicki is writing up a storm I believe (or was)... Without exagerating, there are dozens of regulars to JPF (if not a lot more)...that come and for various "life" reasons...have to leave for awhile. One of the many wonderful things about the JPF community is that we're welcomed back. For me, it Is/Was life issues..caregiving to elderly Mom(s),some health issues, moves, family, and just trying to keep all the dots connected. Not as good at it as many of you! But have NOT stopped writing!...... Hope i can pop in here more often..... so nice to say Hi to all of you.... Kaley

LOL Mike!! yeah I was posting away! But this is what happens when you're sick in bed and have a laptop and feel slightly awake ... I'm still in a brain fog though ... but this is what happens when you've been staring at the ceiling for weeks on end wishing you felt good enough to do *something*.... sigh! So I dunno if you REALLY want what I've got, you're in bad enough shape!! hahaaha without your thyroid going out too. High on life... I guess... as I'm not on anything else -- tee hee Sue I miss and also wish I could find again. Dunno where Accel went. But Heidi Thompson is on my Friend list on Facebook as well. Linda

One of the above has been blocked from posting after a long series of bad behavior followed by insisting they'd NEVER come back here (which was already a second round of similar threats). Otherwise none of the others were ever blocked or banned or deleted (3 different things). In our history of 12 years, we've banned or blocked a total of 13 user names. (A block is a "time out" and ban means you're outta here for good and we only delete obvious bots or spam engines). I think that's a tiny number for such a big board. Most ban that many per week. And 6 of the 13 are the same person with different user names. (And that doesn't include the recent "sandy" person or her aliases, none of which have been banned, blocked or deleted).
I wish those of you missing folks would seek them out and invite them back. We'd love to have them. They might appreciate being missed. No idea why Sofa King would have left in particular as everyone loved and supported that guy as far as I am aware. But same for most of the rest.

Hi Sam. NG is still up and posting, but maybe not as much as before. I made contact with SKB and found those others mentioned by Linda.
It is funny how we can "miss" the online friends isn't it?

I talked via FB to Tom Tracy last week.. he said he was stopping back in. I believe he followed a particular person over to Linda's Actors/Musician page. But he's on my friends list over there (if you guys are on FB, feel free to send me a Friend Request). I am trying to figure out how to wrestle away folks from Facebook as I think this is a much better place for extended discussions for musicians without driving your non musician FB friends crazy.

I'll keep trying to haul them back over as I interact with them on Facebook!! Facebook - really is a way to find REAL people we've connected with over the years. But YES: too much musician talk will drive your family and friends NUTS.... (to the point if that's all that's on your Wall, they may even "unfriend" you)... And the FB Groups really have no method of ORGANIZING any discussions. These boards are a far better format for having a place for everything and everything in its place. At best, a FB Group works sort of like the General Forum where the latest comment bumps the thread to the top - except unlike here, there's also no way to search, filter, find.... except hunt & peck. I still think JPF should have a FB Page to "Like" tho - tho with some out there who are blocked etc, there could be some "troll policing" necessary... to avoid any negativity on the Page... (Brian May has run into this problem with his FB Save-Me Page re: animal cruelty prevention; they're currently solving it by locking down who can post comments, and on what) ... but such a Page could be yet another way to introduce musicians to the boards and hopefully pull them IN, not OUT of this happening' place. I admit when I'm too busy, FB is all I can keep up with, and that just barely - and with one reason being that I can text in a status update from my phone and at least say something. Would LOVE it if these boards allowed some kind of status update by our names when we post, or in our profiles. You know, something that could go right under that "Location" bar under the avatar, or something. It'd be fun but.... eh well!\ Having an Android smartphone now, does make this board easier to check in on, though, the Shout box doesn't scroll and a few other things, but it runs pretty well.

Unless they add it to the software, there's not much I can do about it. There was supposed to be a version 8.0 that would interface with FB and others really well and do all sorts of cool things like give each of you your own web page and blog... but they sold the company and nothing so far.

Hi Sam,
I haven't seen you here for a while either!
I'm in and out, more out than in, not much time lately and been spending it over at 50/90 challenge but that'll be over in a couple of weeks, then probably try and get some feedback here and rewrite some of those songs.
Good to see you and I'll go look for your posts!

I can help you turn those OFF so you don't get them... they are usually group emails, or, your settings are left with boxes check marked to "send email when someone comments after me in a post" -- it's under either GROUP SETTINGS, in the group, or in your FACEBOOK SETTINGS. If we can get online and on FB at the same time I can open a "chat" window with you and walk you through the steps and screens. Maybe I can take a screenshot or two... I'll see...

OK Glyn sending you a few screenshots of FB that should help you figure out what to "UN-click" to stop those emails from bugging you.

Heidi - above - is on FB
Search "Heidi Thompson" in the top search bar - she'll come right up as you & me are mutual friends
Scott Andrew - I've been still getting his email newsletter... I think... dunno 'bout the other two.

Al Foxvox is a Firefox plugin that allows text to speech and works reasonably well. You might get that information to Bob.

I found Sofa King by the way.
We did a project last year to re-engage all the missing folks in the list to the left. We got a good number to come back and say hi, but most volunteers didn't follow through on their lists. (Only 2 of 15 finished their segments). Anyone interested in helping try it again?
