http://youtu.be/rw5ibzGCX0YWARNING: CONTAINS EXPLICIT LYRICS. I wrote this in 2008, and a lot of people find it funny. A lot of people don't, too. I welcome all criticisms. As a precautionary measure, I am posting a disclaimer below.
I am unconcerned with offending fans of Mr. Mayer or any subject. I have a voice, same as anyone else. I shouldn't be censored just because some people won't appreciate the content. "F*** You, John Mayer is, above all, a SONG. Sharing SONGS is what you do here. I couldn't care less if the content offends anyone. If I wake up tomorrow, and a funny song about.. Say... Abortion pops into my head, I will have no qualms about recording and promoting that. If people are offended, they can give it a thumbs down and leave negative feedback. I welcome negative criticism; everyone should be able to offer their full opinion. However you may feel bout John Mayer's music, the man is an indisputable douche; plain and simple. Douches on the level John Mayer has attained deserve to be bashed. Either way, at the end of the day John Mayer is rich and famous and I'm just some pissant Virginia guitar player with a bad voice. It's all in good fun. Humor is a part of life. The song was meant to be straightforward and sophomoric, and it achieves this with three simple chords and tasteless vulgarity. Just because I'm not strumming minor chords and singing cliches about love gone wrong doesn't mean it's not valid... I still created it, and should be able to share it with anyone who would find it funny or entertaining. Many people enjoy it and many more will hate it. Some people love John Mayer's music, others despise it and the man himself. Everyone is entitled to their opinion; but no matter what opinion you may hold, there should never be any taboo subjects in art.
For the record, I enjoy Mayer's, "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room". That's a really good song.
"Offending people is a necessary and healthy act. Every time you say something that's offensive to another person you just caused a discussion. You just forced them to think." Louis CK

It's been a long time since a song has made me laugh this hard. Mission accomplished.

It seems like a waste of good music and singing to me. I saw it was 6+ minutes long and bailed after about 30 seconds of the lyrics.

I totally understand. Not for the faint of heart, anyway. I knew the length would be an issue, and I don't blame anyone for not getting through the whole thing. Never been a big believer in the "a song should only last 2 to 3 minutes" mindset. I used to listen to a lot of Grateful Dead; jams that went on for 30 minutes or more. When I write, I'm going to say what I want to say and damn the length.

you have alot of talent and creative energies Chase
why not consider moving to Nashville? you might miss the serenity of the rolling cow pastures where you are now-but you would be in a thriving community of creative types and believe me theres alot of rock n roll being done here........fact is its all being done here-alot of transplants have come from NY and LA....Seattle,Austin you name it.............Quite a lively mix of people and music here.....You can always go back home and be normal after a few years here.......But I think you would enjoy the experience....50,000 crazy people cant be wrong (and thats just counting the songwriters)

Thank you. Pfft... If I had a chance to work in Nashville, I'd go in a heartbeat. Believe me, I have a traveling bone. Definitely not a homebody. I just simply don't have the money, the resources or the connections required to move. With all of those world-class musicians in one spot, I'd be a tiny fish in a huge ocean. I don't know how to read music, either; I'm an ear player. Working in that kind of environment is my life's dream, and I hope one day I can make that come true. Until then, I have a lot to learn and a lot of work to do.
I find it funny that you posted that on this topic; my most tasteless and artistically bankrupt song to date... Haha.

yes it was tasteless and artistically bankrupt but I think an essential part of creative talent is a wandering mind.....taking a chance-flying blind as it were...we all write things that suck-but eventually-either on purpose or by mistake we actually find a few gold nuggets in our pans-enough nuggets and you have a gold bar-yadda yadda....as far as excuses for not moving to Nashville-you can always find 10,000 good ones.... but most of the people I meet and have met here simply said Geronimo or f**k it and came here anyway....and we are all working our way thru the maze-or THE MATRIX as I like to call it.....we are all learning-all the time...its like a big college campus here and our songs are our science projects.....sure theres alot of talented people here....but my attitude is hey dude you got off the bus in this town same as me-and many of these mansion dwellers spent their first month at the Salvation Army shelter-same as I did.......so they dont intimidate me.... what we have in common is-we came here and we didnt leave......despite another 10,000 good reasons to do so... so anyway Nashville will always be here for you and anybody else for when you decide to jump out of the perfectly good airplane you call your life-and take a chance that the parachute will open... Hi Chase
Well You have a great voice and chops -- I'm a Mayer fan -- but I can still give this a smile -- even though I cannot just believe your version ; ) Welcome to jpf -- jm
