Here's a song from a few months back. It won't be re-done (Ian has already done three re-mixes), but I thought you might get a kick out of it. Genre: rock punk-opera? By the way, Ian's a drummer. Never let it be said that drummers can't do more than one thing well. Music, drums, bass, 2nd guitar, prog keys, vocals, production: Ian Burrage Lead guitar/lead arrangement: Mike Woodford http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=10505721Magical Misery Tour Intro In this circus of love I’m the ringmaster Hold on to your seat This ride can go faster (v1) Come into my sideshow I say with a grin My magical misery tour will begin I’ve sold the last ticket That’s all for today The others have left Now it’s your turn to stay Bridge The magic’s in my loving And the night I’ll spend with you The misery’s in my leaving But others are waiting too (v2) Move closer, my lovely Step right over here No need for alarm, you’ve nothing to fear I think you have secrets You’d like me to know So let’s dim the lights And get on with the show Chorus Let me take you, take you, take you On my magical misery tour I’ll break you, break you, break your heart But you’ll only want me more One ride on my painted pony Will open heaven’s door Let me take you, take you, take you On my magical misery tour (v3) First we'll ride the merry-go-round Then the tilt-a-whirl For one mad moment you’ll be the right girl The simulator Will reach such a height Before we wipeout At the end of the night Bridge The magic’s in my loving And the night I’ll spend with you The misery’s in my leaving But others are waiting too CHORUS © 2010 Donna Devine

One could never say that you are not ambitious with your stuff!!
Not really in the realm that I can critique, so I'll just say I gave it a listen for awhile.

Hi Donna, This is very cool; lol reminds me of Calvin's songs, has that mystical feeling. I think the music and vocal suit the lyric perfectly. Dottie

Dottie, Tony, Glynda, glad you enjoyed this one. It's pretty zany. And Ott, yep, the title's been done, for sure. It was funny, when the title sprang to mind and I hurriedly wrote down the basic lyrics, I wasn't aware of the Beatle's album. But even after I was informed, I decided to go ahead with it, there being no copyright on hooks. Donna

WHooo-WOW!!
Yeah, totally, echoes of Rocky Horror vibes! I love that you didn't know about "Magical Mystery Tour" when you wrote it - awesome! LOL
This is really, completely wild in a terrific way!! And scary in the way those carnie people really can be - quite a bit creepy. I rememeber getting "looks" from some of 'em as a teenager at the county fair, LOL!!
PERFECT.
Great write - and great production just suited to its weirdness!

I just thought this was a lot of fun. I definitely got the Magical Mystery Tour thing, but figure you were making a play on the words. And as I had said before, I agree about the Rocky Horror sound to it, but it definitely has your unique twist. One of the things I really admire about you is your ability to find the right collaborator for your wonderful lyrics, regardless of what style is required. You certainly did that with this one. It was weird, quirky, even a bit creepy, but such a fun listen!!

Hi Donna,
Kind of reminds me of something The Who might have done. I like it.

Found the take very intriguing. Loved the back beat and how the story progresses.
This is rather good IMHO.

Hi Donna Definitely rock punk opera... Very cool production, very effective! Hits it's mark. It's even more Rocky Horror than Tommy and more Alice Cooper than The Who. Everyone did a great job! And its ready for an indie film too. All the best Mike

DONNA, You go girl!! That is crazy fun!! Very theatrical and rockin!! I like when folks push boundaries and do something different and this is pretty cool. I thought a few of the lines could have been phrased so that they would have been more dramatic, but overall..fun!!
LOVED the write on the bridge....
Bridge The magic’s in my loving And the night I’ll spend with you The misery’s in my leaving But others are waiting too

Hi Donna,
Wow--I don't really listen to this genre(anymore) but that's a kickin song. I might be dating myself here but I could see Alice Cooper singing the hell out of this back in the day. I got to hand it to you--you really diversify your music. very nicely done. I feel like kid again. LOl. Alice--someone's got a song to itch. LOl. Take care, Roger
