i really want to start making good quality recordings of my songs, but I have little money. i don't have any recording equipment nor would I know how to use it if I did. I only have a keyboard as that and the piano are my main instruments. any places, people, or ideas you could recommend?

Hi there, That is a question with answers that can fill a book! The easiest way is to download Audacity 1.3 for free from http://audacity.sourceforge.net/, buy a microphone ($100) and an interface ($100) so you can connect it to your computer. By learning how to use it properly, you can make very good recordings. Here is a web page to help you get started.... http://www.tweakheadz.com/guide.htm

Hi Olivia, welcome to JPF. Colin has given good information. Here's another website that can help, it includes good free download links: http://homerecording.com/index.htmAll the Best, Mike
You've got to know your limitations. I don't know what your limitations are. I found out what mine were when I was twelve. I found out that there weren't too many limitations, if I did it my way. -Johnny Cash It's only music. -niteshift Mike Dunbar Music

Hi Olivia...
I just joined this forum and do not want appear desperate but I DO offer the services for which you seek. Although it's not cheap, my services are for more affordable than similar demo services from Nashville and Los Angeles have to offer with twice the quality and three times the satisfaction!
Anyway... I am a big advocate of do it yourself (I'm a living example), so I encourage you to pursue recording your own music yourself. If anything... you will open a new door into your computer. It truly is amazing what one can accomplish "inside the box" (the computer). I have music on CD's and on TV and film... that were recorded by me, in my basement in Minnesota!!
